22 month old and sitting on rides

Hi everyone. I was wondering for those with little ones around 2, did they sit on your lap in the ride or next to you on the seat? I will also have my 4 year old, so he would need to be able to fit too! I am worried she wont fit in my lap with the bar coming down and if she sits next to me and gets scared then I wont be able to pick her up. Tell me what you have done...thanks so much!

By that age, mine sat next to me, most of the ride accomodate two littles with an adult, (toy story/buzz lightyear)

Pretty much all of the rides require each rider to be sitting in the seat not on a lap. You should sit in the middle with an arm around your DD. You should not have any problem sitting with all 3 of you in one seat. My hubby and I (I am Pooh sized) have been able to sit in many of the rides with our son when he was younger all in the same seat.

Another thing alot times kids this young do not "know" to be scared and they are too busy trying to look at all the colors and scenes to notice the movement of the ride.

We even took our son on POTC and HM from 13 months on without much problem...his only complaint was the darkness which he dislikes even now at 6. We solved that by letting get some souvenir that lights up and wearing on every ride. The only ride he currently is refusing to ride again is Dinosaur and he can't wait until our next trip because he will be tall enough for Rockn' Roller Coaster.

A few of the rides our son would sit in my lap, but most, as others have said, make you place he child in the seat. I always tried to put the smallest child in the middle so that I could keep a hand on him. Your 4 year old will more than likly want to sit on the sides so that he can see better. You will all fit just fine and I hope that you have a great trip.

I agree with the previous posts regarding this. For the most part we did not keep our daughter on our lap. There may have been a couple of times on rides such as POTC or small world where she ended up on our laps, but otherwise we did the same as the previous posts mentioned and just put her in the middle. Have a good trip.
