We will be celebrating my son's 21st Birthday while in Disney. Any tips on where to eat? I want to make it special but not too embarrassing for him.

Thanks,
Ida

If you want an absolutely DELICIOUS dinner make a PS at Ohana. (If you tell them it's his birthday, he'll also get a cupcake and they'll sing, but it's not terribly embarrassing)

At Teppanyaki, they gave my husband a whole birthday cake that was big enough to share with our whole table. Again, it was great recognition, but not embarrassing. This place is similar to Benihana, but better!

It was also be fun to take him to Pleasure Island that night since he's officially "legal."

Hope you have a great time!

Welcome to the Dis Minnie! My dd just turned 21 and enjoyed Brown Derby a lot. The waiter didn't believe she was 21 and seriously thought she was joking. We got a good laugh from that.

Ida,

We took ous son and his GF to Portobello Yacht Club when he was on leave from the Navy last Dec. We've been meaning to try it for several years, just never quite made it.

Everybody loved the meal and we will be going back again and again.
Very nice restaurant for the new "adult" in your family and a meal none of you will soon forget.

BTW, it cost us $200 for 4, with several drinks each.

At Ohana's did you tell them it was the birthday when you made the ps, or did you call a day or so before, or tell them when you got there? My BIL's birthday is the day we arrive. My sister asked me if any of the restuarants there did a happy birthday type thing. We won't be going to the parks that day, so I was looking for a resort resturant. I have really been wanting to try Ohana's too, so what better excuse.

I told them when making the PS. They included a note about Kevin's birthday on all of our PS and we were given little surprises throughout our trip.

How about California Grill? I think that I would have been impressed with this place back (WAY back ;) ) when I turned 21.

Thanks for the info Planogirl. I am getting some good ideas. This is a great site.

By the way, Kilee. I love the mickey ears. The Tag fairies have been good to you. I hope I can earn my ears soon too.
