What is everyone's favorite drink at WDW? Anything special & different you've found you'd like to share?

They've standardized the drink menus now, so "special & different" drinks that you used to be able to get at different resorts are no longer available. If you're talking past, though, we used to love the Cape May Coladas. These were pina coladas with a splash of midori to turn them a lovely shade of pale green. Delicious! There was something similar, though I can't remember its name, that we used to get at Boma. It was a pina colada that was a lovely shade of baby blue.

But now, they are all gone, gone with the wind that blew across Georgia...

Cheers!

I once had the pleasure of going to a bachelor party thrown at DW. Ever try riding Rockin' Roller Coaster, after drinking WAYYY too much? The ride seems dull now sober. :rotfl2: As for my favorite drink, I really like the sangria at Hoop De Doo Revue.

There is a great bar in the Poly. Every visit to WDW includes a stop in the Poly just to hit the bar:drinking1 It's probably a good idea that we don't stay there...that would/could be dangerous:lmao:

As of a couple weeks ago, the Poly still had the old favorites like the Backstratcher, the Blue Hawaiian and the Parrot Passion. I was laughing with the bartenders at the Tambu Lounge about all the fru-fru drinks served in pinapples/with umbrellas/glowing icecubes, etc. while I sat there drinking vodka tonics.

Mmmm, drinks at WDW... Mmmmm... Sorry, was dreaming there for a minute... Ok!

My favorites - non-EPCOT:
Frozen Grasshopper, Lapu Lapu, Backscratcher, Ohana Colada, Um, pretty much anything at the Tambu Lounge...

Sangria at Spoodles Takeout Window

The free flowing sangria at Hoop Dee Doo (helps with audience participation!)

Kungaloosh at Adventurers Club

Whatever the the sommelier recommends at California Grill or Jiko

My favorites at EPCOT (deserves it's own category):
Mexico - frozen margarita (I get the mango & strawberry mixed - DH usually just gets the strawberry - it's all good, who cares...)

Germany - pretzels und beere - well, I don't like the beer in Germany, but it just had to be mentioned. Prefer the Riesling - whichever one they've got in the wine shop that day. Tends to rotate wineries.

Italy - Rosa Regale, or Bellinis, or both...

Morocco - Mimosas or yummy casablanca coffee drinks

France - Pomegranite Kir or Kir Royale

UK - Strongbow Cider or DH likes beer... Whatever kind...

And when the Food & Wine fest is going on, the list grows immensely!

The drink menu standardization didn't really have much of an effect on the 'speciality' drinks in most places.

Happy drinking!!!:woohoo:

After my wedding, a family member bought me a drink here-something fruity and hawaiian-don't remember the name. It was fabulous, but boy did it throw me for a loop! My family still makes fun of me for it. I was so embarrassed to have to ask for crackers as we were being seated to help out the--problem! The server kept asking me through the whole meal if I was ok. She even brought me wet towels!! :rotfl2: I don't drink much and I was really hungry. Not a good combination!!
A couple people with me got pina coladas and said they were some of the best they'd ever had!

Lapu Lapu at Poly is very good. Also at the Poly, the Backscratcher which comes with a "secret ingredient":earsboy:

Mount Kilimarita at AKL. Jose Cuervo Gold, Tangerine Liqueur, and a splash of cranberry juice. They will make it frozen if you insist -- but it is best on the rocks.

Yum!

:drinking1 WOOHOO lots of great options to look for!

I'd really just like for something maybe at the end of the day.

I loved the "Nyami Nyami" at the pool bar at Animal Kingdom Lodge, also the "Pretoria Punch" also pictured, was good too!

Here's the sign at the AKL bar that lists the ingredients of some of their specialty drinks:

From the Tambu Lounge;
virgin strawberry daiquiris on either end (for DSs), with a "Mai Tai" on the left middle, and a really good frozen drink who's name escapes me right now, on the right middle. lol It might be a "Trade Winds" but I'm not sure!

My "Malibu Bay Breeze" from the Kona Cafe:

More "Mai Tais" from the Polynesian!

Blue Curacao maybe? Those both sound yummy.

I used to love midori & grapefruit juice. Midori & pina colada sounds much better to me know.

I have a feeling we're gonna be spending a bit of time "inspecting", aren't we?

I'm taking notes from SeaSpray :)

I figure a drink a night before heading to the hotel should do us some good!

Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvee (which apparently, you can't get anywhere else...I've tried).

not my favorite but the tangerine cocktail at morocco is great....

the Mt. Fuji in Japan was good...but tasted like kool-aid last week...yuck..

problem with Disney drinks is they have moved to using mixes....its cheaper so no longer can you get the real thing...they still have their names...I used to love the mai tia at the poly they used the real stuff light rum, dark rum, triple sec, grenadine, pineapple juice, and lime ...now you get light rum and a mixer for the same price..yuck...
