After 18 months, the withdrawal symptons have become too much and we have booked 2 nights at DLH at the end of January. My wife thinks we are staying at the New York despite her permanently mentioning "pink" everytime the topic came up I said it was too expensive so she should get a surprise when we drive down the Avenue René Goscinny and turn right towards the DLH rather than left into the New York.

Will be very strange as we have always taken our three children since the youngest were two years old.

The one and only time we stayed at DLH we had a pretty poor view of the garden on the side and this time I would like to try and get a room with a view of the park.

I have booked through expedia as their mobile app provided a much needed 10% discount and they have advised that special requests should be faxed to the hotel - trying to use a fax at work is not easy but wanted to see whether anyone had previously made special requests by email and if yes what email address have they used (I found dlp.guest.communication@disney.com) is this the right email address ?

Any help would be appreciated as I would like to make this trip very special for someone that is very special and isnt very well (without too much details)

thanks for your help as always

Simon

I would definitely send an email about two weeks before you go. I know there was talk a while back about what rooms in the DLH were good but I'm not sure what thread it was. Good job on surprising your other half :thumbsup2

Hi Simon. What a lovely thing to do for your DW:goodvibes

This is a better email because it is for the actual hotel. Disney will only have your booking details about 1 week before you arrival date and wont allocate rooms either untill then so it may be worth hanging on a wee bit before mailing.

dlp.dlh.front.office@disney.com

Have a fab trip and I really hope you get some pixie dustpixiedust:

Emailed and received a reply same day, unfortuantely they do not have any standard rooms that overlook the park ?

They did advise that we should be able to get a room with a king size bed rather than 2 doubles.

However at home, I am still enjoying the wind up reagrding the New York hotel, especially when she said about having lunch at Earl of Sandwich next Thursday as we have to walk past there to get to the park.

Can't wait for next week - 18 months away seems so long
