I think I am getting roped into helping plan or 20 year HS reunion. It would be in the suburbs of Philly. ANy body have fun ideas? Where was yours? What would be fun and how do you get a good turn out?

ANY suggestions are appreciated.

One of the things we did was tell everyone in advance that there would be a table set up for pictures of your kids to be displayed. We had tons of pictures to look at and it was fun seeing everybody's children.

Where did you have it? We are trying to find a location. Was it a hotel, restaurant, bar? We want to do it the day after Thanksgiving when most people travel home for the holidays.

The picture idea is good.

We had the reunion at the Italian American club here in town. It is very nice and hosts weddings and such all the time. It was the location of our junior prom, so... They had a caterer that they regularly used, who was great, and there was a fully stocked bar. The cost of staff (including the bartender) was included in the overall price. Ours was on a Saturday night. We figured Friday night wasn't good as many people, in our blue-collar town, work on Saturdays.

We also arranged for a photographer to be there for "formal" pictures to be taken of couples (like at the prom). The photographer came up with two or three small packages you could purchase. The cost of those pictures was handled privately by the people who had pictures taken.

That sounds cool. DId you have a good turnout? Saturday night might be better- good idea

We had an OK turn out. Only about 100 people (including some spouses) from a class of over 400. But, 100 was a fairly big reunion, as I've heard.

That is good - you got 1/4 of the class. Our last one had 60 - maybe 30-40 classmates out of 220.

We went to DH's reunion and they had a game company come in and they had all kinds of casino games to play. Everyone got how ever much money to start (fake money-they put the yearbook picture of everyone's favorite teacher in the face part) and you could play all night. At the end of the evening they auctioned off memorabilia from the school, old football jerseys, cheerleading outfits, etc. I knew 2 people there and it was nice to play the casino games to have something to do while the classmates chatted.

They had the party at the golf club in town and had heavy hors de vors and a cash bar (I think we got two drink tickets with our fee). They also had the option to golf in the afternoon before the party, thus the 2 people I knew there-the ones we golfed with.
