"The program is currently scheduled to end on January 31, 2042- for OKW, BWV, VWL and BCV."

Just curious, what are you going to do when the program ends in 2042 (assuming you're still alive, knock on wood)? Will DVC make a special extension, do you think? If not, will you buy into the program again? Silly question, I know, but just curious.

First, I will be glad to be celebrating my 77th birthday that year!
Second, I will find my own best way to enjoy Disney with my (God-willing) great--great grandchildren with or without DVC.

Assuming every resort is still in good shape, and that Disney is still a high demand vacation area, I believe they will have to make some sort of provision that will allow renewals or they risk dumping a high amount of inventory on the market at once--DIsney is too smart to do that. I suppose they could choose to convert them into longer-term living communities or straight hotels, also.

I'm going to Disneyland!

Sorry, couldn't resist with the way the question was phrased.

HEY NOW! THAT is a great idea! Considering that in 2042, most of it's members will be ederly, convering it into a 55+ retiremnet community would be wonderful! I would be the first in line with my belongings, all set to move into an OKW GV. LOL ;)

Can you see all of us old cronies having a pool party at SAB? Last one down the water slide is a rotten egg! LMAO:teeth:

We will be 84 years old(hopefully) in 2042......so I will leave it up to our 2 kids(29+17 now).::yes::

January 31, 2042 is just 39 years away.

That will be the exact day of my 87th birthday. Hopefully I am not drooling in some nursing home. Maybe I'll be one of those spry old timers they put on TV going down splash mountain 25 times in a single day.

I eventually hope to add points at SSR or some other future property that DVC builds with a 2050 date, which should take me well into my mid 90's. After that, I will be a greeter at Walmart!:jumping1:

I'll either be 90+ or well...you know. If I'm long gone by 2042, my will requests my ashes to be spread by the readhead in the Pirates ride.

Tiberius--I'll be 77 that year to :D Hopefully we will still be making trips to disney--guess with the grandkids and/or great grandkids :teeth:

In 2042, I will be wishing I hadnt borrowed and used all my points in 2041, and prolly still on the waitlist for VWL points!:p

Well since I'll either be dead or 92 at the time, it's really a non-issue for me. I doubt very seriously I will be wanting to ride Tower of Terror when I'm 92 (but then you never know).

Hopefully I'll be able to find my teeth!!! :sunny: :)

Speaking of teeth.

My Grandmother rode the coasters untill she was 82..she quit because she was worried about here false teeth flying out!!!

I plan on giving our points to our children, once they've established a family of their own. In 2042, DS1 will be 52, and DS2 will be 48.

Think about it...after 50 years of family traditions, memories, etc it would be quite devastating. :( Then again, I'm sure Disney will have many new options available to keep them coming back for more :p.

As an SSR owner who really appreciates all the help - and all the friendly people - here on the DIS, I'll be reserving a GV and inviting as many of you as will fit to spend the week! :grouphug: (Although I think Nick has a better smiley....)

LOL! Since I will be 94 and my oldest "kid" will be 73, I doubt I will be worrying about it! I am just glad we have and will have all those years of a pre-paid vacation.
