2026 MMB info Announced

Question about the memory maker. We are west coasters and only get to WDW every few years. If I buy MMB and go for marathon weekend and take a few pics and buy 1-2 but want to wait to get the full MM for my summer family trip, will I run into any issues? Do I need to activate the offer or something? Thanks!

I don't remember what I had to do to activate MM, but there was an affirmative step I had to take to use it. So I think you can still buy individual photos separately.

Just used mine for a group trip over halloween. Once you get the first photo with the photopass watermark in your photos, go into it and it will have an option to activate the MM and it will remove all watermarks

You can buy the 2025 MMB now and then get the BOGO OTU points for that trip.

But, the benefits end December 31st.

To get the 2026 MMB benefits, you can’t buy until Dec 9th, and those benefits begin January 1st, 2026.

Which means you need to wait until Jan 1st or later to buy the OTU points with the BOGO price.

Now, as long you don’t have to borrow points to book the June 2026 trip when your window opens, you can book it then, buy MMB for 2026, and then buy the OTU points in January at the BOGO price for any night in the same UY of that trip.

Cancel it, and reallocate it into the real trip. You’d then have all the benefits of MMB for 2026.

Could you please expand on this for me?

I just got off the phone with MS and she said if I purchased the 2025 MMB today, the only OTU I could purchase under that program benefit would be for a new reservation by November 30th before my December 2025 use year arrived.

That unless I wanted the other benefits of the MMB for the remainder of 2025, I should just wait until the 2026 MMB program for any OTU trips next year.

I clarified asking so if I purchased OTU points today they would’t have a 7 month window for rebooking something and she said no only for travel this month.

I was hoping to sign up for the 2025 MMB today, get the 24 points for a fake reservation in February. Cancel that fake reservation, then modify the real Aulani February reservation to use the 24 OTU.

Then purchase the 2026 MMB doing this all again in January for a fake & real trip in May. Phew.

The official FAQ seems to contradict the advice from MS:

Q: Can I receive bonus one-time-use Vacation Points in a future Use Year, or only the Use Year for the current Membership season?

A:
Bonus one-time-use Vacation Points can be issued and used in any Use Year the Member can actively book.

Don’t worry - it will not automatically activate. We’ve done 2 trips this year since buying MMB and still have not activated the Memory Maker credit.

You can save it for later, I’m just not sure when it will expire. It might expire by the end of 2025 but there is a slight possibility they may still honor it later. I’m curious to see what happens.

Any idea when they will announce MMB ticket prices for WDW? I'm hoping to get some for a January trip for my spouse and hope to price compare with some Black Friday deals such as UK Attraction Tickets (this may be less lucrative than last year, with exchange rates).

That CM was confused.

We bought the BOGO OTUP in Sept 2025 for an April 2026 trip. I looked for a dummy AKV 1BR weeknight in Jan 2026 to find 24pts availability and booked that during the transaction. They verbally told me those points would expire at the end of my Use Year (which is Sept) and that’s exactly how they are marked now that they are in my account. I was able to cancel the Jan AKV and apply the OTUP to my April trip, and worst case scenario I must use them by Aug 31st, 2026.

There are many tiny details to DVC and even the best CMs sometimes get them confused. Our CM was very pleasant and knowledgeable but still was incorrect on 2 points during our phonecall. After I bought the MBB Bogo OTUP on one membership, I wanted to buy regular OTUP on my other Membership and she thought it was not possible because 24pts was the max. I reminded her that was per membership which helped jog her memory. Some other detail like that happened as well. It was a long call because we had a bunch of different DVC things to take care of.

No, I believe you only get one BOGO per MMB year. You still are limited to 24 OTUP per membership. You could use 2025 MMB BOGO for a trip in 2026 as long as you are in the UY. We booked an AUL trip for April in September using our 2025 MMB BOGO. We are not planning to get MMB in 2026.

You can only get one batch of 12 "free" points per program year, but you can book into any bookable use year. Program years are tied to calendar years (just as Dues are).

No, I believe you only get one BOGO per MMB year. You still are limited to 24 OTUP per membership. You could use 2025 MMB BOGO for a trip in 2026 as long as you are in the UY. We booked an AUL trip for April in September using our 2025 MMB BOGO. We are not planning to get MMB in 2026.

Some people were lucky and able to double dip it. It's been reported here. I don't think this is the way the program was designed based on all the terms. There was probably confusion between training CMs and tracking the benefit since the program is brand new.

Similar to how some used restricted resale points on an AP. Not supposed to work that way, but some slipped through the cracks.

Wishful thinking, but I'm hoping the voucher stays in MDE until we need to use it like an AP voucher. Although the T&C doesn't state when it will expire, only when it will be in your account. Who knows!

Simply put, you can only purchase a maximum of 24 OTUP with the BOGO offer per MMB and membership.

I will say there is still some ambiguity around what is and is not allowed to maximize MMB BOGO OTUP.

Our MMB was purchased under my husband’s name, who is listed as an owner on 2 different DVC memberships (1 resale contract on Membership A, and 1 direct contract on Membership B that has blue card).

Call #1 - we quickly told the CM the order we’d like to do our transactions, and asked if it was possible. We wanted DH to use his MMB to purchase the discounted OTUPs on his resale BWV contract/membership, then we’d like to buy MMB for myself where I’d go ahead and use it to buy discounted OTUPs on our direct VGF contract/membership. He said no problem and it was possible. He got far enough that a phantom VGC contract showed in our BWV account… and then phone call disconnected

Call #2 - I gave the same opening but was told DH cannot use his MMB to buy BOGO on the BWV resale contract/membership.

So we just decided to get the ordeal over with and continued Call #2 and only 1 set of Bogo points with 24pts max. We really only needed 10 more so we just bought those regular price on the BWV resale. BUT, I have read many testimonies of people doing exactly what we wanted to do, and the first CM seemed to know exactly what we meant and that he’d be able to do it. Thus I’m not 100% certain if there is truly no way for DH and I to each buy a MMB on our direct contract and then each use the BOGO entitlements on different memberships The one CM said DH can use his for buying on the BWV resale but then that call conveniently disconnected later on lol. Which has happened to us many times before so possible coincidence?

I do have a 2nd non blue and membership that both me and DH are on.

Like if someone today buys it for their trip next year so they can start buying the OTUPs and/or tickets, etc… it’s not a far jump for them to think the Memory Maker would apply to that same trip that was the sole reason they bought MMB. So will DVC say you need to buy 2 years of MMB for one trip? I’m just not sure how they’ll handle this.

I bought a Memory Maker package back before our Feb 2024 trip. As the trip approached we decided to upgrade our tickets to Sorcerer Pass, and asked that they credit the Memory Maker cost toward our 2 APs and $99 AP Photopass add-on, which the CM said sure but she didn’t lol.

So that Memory Maker credit is showing in our account for almost 2 years now. I’ve asked a few times and repeatedly told it would not expire until used.

One CM even volunteered advice about the other MM credit showing in our account for MMB, remarking to save that for last lol. But I’m not sure they understood the workings of DVC.
