I'm hoping for snow in Orlando.;)

Well, here you go! Snow in Orlando!!

Even Better, it's snowing in Celebration...and will snow every night this month. I love this time of year in town.

We almost NEVER get snow. DH is like a little child when he gets to play in it. If the forcast has snow within 100 miles....he wants to go on a road trip!!:rotfl2: I have had one White Christmas in my lifetime! and that's a pretty long time.

This was our only snowfall last season. It only lasted half a day but, we were able to get a few good pictures.

Your horses are gorgeous!!!! And they look so pretty out there in the snow..:lovestruc

Got 19" of fresh snow over the weekend. We got out all the Christmas decorations, the kids went sledding in the back yard and DW and I went skinny dippin in the hot tub late Saturday night. Life is good.

My kids had their first snow day of the year.:scared1: I was out shoveling the driveway at 6:30 AM. Yuck!! I'm counting the days till spring!!

It's absolutely beautiful outside my window right now. It looks like someone poured powdered sugar all over my forest and the birds (esp the cardinals) are much more visable now especially when waiting their turn at our many birdfeeders. So quiet and peaceful..........

Having said that........I pretty much can't stand winter. Snow's pretty from my window but not when I sat yesterday and was worried to death for two sons that were driving back to their homes in the storm that caused this beautiful scene.

I don't like the cold, the ice, the slippery streets and sidewalks. Just don't like it at all unless maybe I could have winter for about a week!:cold:

Well, DD20 is back at college (see earlier post). Flight was canceled, but the airlines paid for her hotel in the airport. She had a standby flight at 7AM, got on but it was delayed an hour. She and her art portfolio made it, her luggage was (and is) still on the 6 AM flight that didn't go out. Worse yet, her car was dead when she tried to start it....nice airport-guy jumped it for her, but told her the battery may be bad. She stopped at Walmart and got a new one, and is now safely in her dorm and back to school work. She shed a few tears, as did I, but she had a great attitude about the whole thing......she is really a young woman now, not really a child!

Now, this morning they didn't cancel school here....VERY icy (but beautiful :) ).....DD17 slid off the road (along with 4 other cars) as the elementary bus (DD11's and yes she was ON it) fishtailed across both lanes of the county highway. Bus straightened out, picked up the next kid, and went on its way. A nice gentleman who was REALLY stuck pushed DD17's car out of the ditch and sent her and her little HS carpool on its way. They were late, but all okay. At that point I decided to drive DSalmost13 to school- we were behind the Jr hi bus. Watched another couple of cars slid into the SAME ditch (joining the nice gentleman) as the jr hi bus did the same maneuver......but all was well and we were actually on time! Sure hope the State trooper got Mr. Nice Gentleman out of the ditch fast so he could get to work!!!!

Three members of our community did lose their lives in this snowstorm in two separate accidents. Makes me realize how precious and precarious our lives really are. Decided to give in and enjoy the snow.....the younger ones went sledding and we had hot chocolate and popcorn for our late afternoon snack.....they grow up too quick and can be snatched from us too easily.

Think we will sit by the fire and watch the ice crystals twinkle on the snow. My DD20 is right- can't beat it, so we might as well enjoy it!
