2021 - 2022 Saving Up For Disneyland Thread

whoops....should read after visiting any of those 45 days of the year, you will become jaded about the rest of the year.

Went to the grocery store last night and they had this huge display of rose bouquets, all on sale for $6. I almost bought one but then I thought that money could be a down payment on a corn dog. 🤣

So I’m going to add $6 to my savings.

Queen of hearts you are....croquettes anyone????? just don't poke your eye out with the stick...ran the flower idea by my wife as I do the same before snowbirds arrive.....no...flowers keep the love....so no "almost" on that one...but I can subtract the original cost and savings of discount and put that in my Mickey Mouse taxi bank.

***October 2022 Trip***

I opened a savings account at my local credit union to use specifically for my Disney fund. Since the account isn't at my main bank the money will be out of sight on a daily basis so I won't be tempted to use it for something else.

Also added some other funds:

$91.72 Starting Balance
$3.62 Additional Change Found
$6.00 That I didn't spend on roses
$98.00 Amazon Refund
$57.70 Day Care FSA Reimbursement

$257.04 Total Savings

I have a few more little things to return to some stores, I think that will be around $20 once processed.

I've calculated that to hit our total budget for our trip I need to save an average of $357 each month. Getting pretty close to that for this month.

Since we're so far out from our trip airfare is really unpredictable right now. So I'm going to hold off on measuring against that cost until later. I'll use our hotel costs to start off with since those prices don't change much.

Progress:
$1,200/$257 = 12% Funded

I love following your process/progress! I use my Amazon returns money to go toward the Disneyland fund as well. Today I am returning items that total $43.

Loved your roses example. I do that too. I also do the same with coupons. Today I will use a $10 off $40 grocery purchase -- and will just put the $10 saved into the fund.

I should start tracking my coupons. They are all digital now so I'll have to watch my savings on my receipt and put that amount away.
