Title says it all-not travelling in 2019 and holding off until '20, but when would people recommend their travels be scheduled for?

A few notes:

-Can't seem TOO sad-my last trip was only four months ago-Nov 2018
-I want to see as many new things as possible. Unfortunately i can't keep track of when new attractions are opening (minus SWGE obviously). Is everything else pretty much set for 2021?
-Should i hold off until 2021 if so?
-We also always go to Universal and i know they are more hush hush about their future plans. (Right?)

My works' 'busy season' is January to April where if i take off its time and a half so pretty much i'm asking from May to December when is the recommended time?

I'm not really worried about crowds or inflated costs. I get some great perks and have been to Disney over Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas, in the dead heat of August, so am prepared for any and all just simply want opinions!

When will you be travelling?

If you’re not worried about crowds and all that I would always go earlier than later. That’s just me tho! There is so much happening in between that date range. My next trip is May 2019! I feel like that time of the year is awesome to go!

We're going in July 2020, but that's mainly due to the fact most of the traveling party are teachers and July is the only time frame that works for them.

If I was going without the teachers, I liked the weather in early May. I'm also a fan of late September/early October.

We are going last week of August/first week of September. Out of the 2 weeks we are there, 5 days will be WDW. Have never been in the summer, so this will be new to us, but since our kids won’t be back to school yet we figure it will be a good time for us.

Our last trip was in 2011, so there are lots of new attraction for us to see and I can’t wait!

I really loved going mid November. It was minimal crowds and great weather.

From the May-December time frame I've been during the first two weeks of May, last two weeks of August, most all the weeks of September, last two weeks of October, second week of November and first two weeks of December. All were great as far as crowds went, with the last two weeks of October being the busiest and the first week of May being the slowest as far as crowds went. Weather in May, October and November was the best. August/September were hot & humid, but no more so than at home. December has been a crap shoot. Sometimes we've had great weather and other times it's been cold.

For me, I would pick either the first two weeks of May or the first two weeks of November.

Attractions and shows opening this year:
Lightning McQueen racing academy opening at DHS March 31
Mickey and Minnie Runaway Railway will open at DHS Fall 2019
Skyliner opening this year
Beauty and the Beast Sing Along at Epcot opening this year
Epcot Forever new show debuts later this year at Epcot

Universal tends to share opening dates very close to the opening time but you have the new Forbidden Forest with Hagrid rollercoaster and a new nighttime show at the Hogwarts castle

If you are not worried about crowds then come whenever is most convenient for you

Do you have a guess for ‘when’ on Skyliner? Was considering booking CBR for trip mid/end August but only if running/construction finally over there.

I prefer November - hurricane season is pretty much over (in terms of risk of an actual storm), it’s cooler, and Christmas decorations are appearing. The week before Thanksgiving is after Jersey Week and Food & Wine Festival so probably lower crowds than earlier in the month. First two weeks of December are good too.

2021 is the 50th anniversary year. If you think SWGE is going to make for crowds, you ain't seen nothin yet. Unless you specifically wanted to go for the anniversary, I'd avoid 2021 at ALL costs.

I have it in my head I really want to be there Oct 1st, 2021, but it's going to be nuts. The 50th celebration will probably last an entire year though, so no pressure to see everything right away. I think DLR did their 60th for over a year.

It’s expected the 50th will begin in the Summer and last into 2022.

We are going this year but planning a Star Wars-centered, adults-only trip the week before Memorial Day 2020. Flight pricing this year, along with cheerleading & dance competitions scheduled, cemented it for us.

I wouldn't wait for 2021, there will be so much to see next year, too! From what I have read, people seem to like May for weather, crowds, and pricing.

We (read: ME!!) want to be there for the 50th in October 2021...it will be nuts for sure and I'm sure my husband will veto that idea, but I can dream!

not that I know of, @rteetz do you have an idea? they have been running tests on them pretty consistently for the past couple of weeks

Disney says Fall however it should be sooner than that. Late Summer.

I think they say Fall because Riviera isn't going to open to guests until the Fall.

I’ve been checking rates for the trip the late august trip a month or so. Especially at rack rate, has always been standard rooms available in Aruba & the other section (which escapes me at this point lol) on that side of lake. Yesterday, they all went poof, including the accessible ones of which nearly all categories had been open.

Know they are working outside in that area currently as to concrete & areas around the towers. Wondering if they are pulling buildings for construction issues that will be ongoing?

I had hoped to avoid dealing with that mess, messed with the vibe @ Poly when there for rehab and to lesser degree a subsequent one with the gondola work.

I'm going in March 2020 (not a possibility for you, I know). Won't go again in the summer except as a last resort. Whew, the heat! This year, I visited second week of December, and I loved it. Low crowds, festive holiday decorations, but it was cool. Not cool enough to keep me out of the pool, but let's just say I was passing by people in puffy coats as I made my way to it!

Yes, it will be an entire year but that year will be more crowded due to people wanting to go during the celebratory year. I, too, want to be there on Oct 1st. Don't care if I get to do anything. Just want to be there.

My sister and I are planning on going in 2020. She really wants to do the Food & Wine festival, so that puts us in the September-mid-November time frame. I'd love to be able to do it when they have Christmas decorations up (but not a deal breaker). I think the W&D marathon is the 1st weekend of November, Jersey Week seems to be the 1st full week of November, then you have the Veteran's Day holiday. As I'm typing this, I think I may have talked myself out of trying to do F&W with a side of Disney Christmas.
