2020 Resort Rates Question

While browsing the 2020 resort rates on Mousesavers, I noticed that spring rates go into effect beginning March 6 until April 19, when they drop back to regular. Except for the week of March 22 thru 28, which is listed as regular rates. I can't imagine why that one particular week might have lower rates than all the others. Does Disney expect lower crowds for that one week? Any ideas?

Its the week between college spring breaks and k-12 spring breaks. College is earlier while k-12 is normally around Easter either before or after.

That makes sense, thanks. Leave it to Disney to rate their weeks so specifically, geez.

I’m not sure that’s true. That’s spring break week in our area. Break is always the last full week of March here, regardless of when Easter falls.

It can change in certain areas but it's orignal origin came from having a break around the Easter holiday and was even known as Easter break. That has obviously changed but the connection has typically held up.

I don't know the percentage of schools though that have switch or not from Easter. It does make perfect sense though if a large group had Spring break I would think they would keep the prices up.

We've gone to Disney 6 years in a row during March... I looked ahead to next year and the prices are insane... I actually should say INSANE! From March 15 to March 20, it is $143 per night for a campsite at Fort Wilderness... $143 per night and not even a bed to sleep in. For only $21/night more you can actually have a bed to sleep in at All Star Music. $164/night for All Star Music is also pretty steep.

Hmmm.......I looked at TP's crowd predictions for the week of March 22 and they're very high. I also looked at the spring break poll numbers for that week (thanks GADisneyDad), and they're very high as well. So Disney's lower rates for that week seem odd to me.

It's not "a change in certain areas". Whole large parts of the country have traditionally had a spring break schedule that is not tied to Easter or Passover. The Southern states, in particular, do not tend to have spring breaks tied to Easter. I grew up here in Texas and spring break has always been in mid-March. It isn't related to Easter at all. We tend to get Good Friday off, and that's it for an Easter break.

I never said it didn't change for your area did I? I can't speak for the whole country and didn't pretend to. I know certain areas have and others have not.
