I was pricing out a hotel for a possible visit this December and was surprised at how cheap things seemed compared to 2018 when we had our Annual Passes last. Since I was considering APs again for our trip, I started checking prices in January, February and then the rest of the year in 2020.

I couldn’t believe the jump in prices! And for our favorite hotel (Homewood Suites at the Convention Center) the availability for any dates seemed extremely limited. I have never seen January be so expensive and unavailable compared to December!

It seems to lend credence to the idea that folks were waiting for Rise of the Resistance and that we may finally see the insane crowds that have been predicted since the opening of SWGE.

Anyone else notice price increases for their hotels in 2020?

I saw increases for our top 3 hotels. I'm guessing the mass reservations for Jan are indeed in anticipation of ROTR opening. But I think it will once again not open on time. I think it will be a repeat of this year where everyone booked these reservations in anticipation of it opening by 2020 and when there is another delay, there will be a lot of upset visitors and for those who can, a lot of hotel cancellations.

I am seeing ridiculous prices all the way through September. Way higher than normal. Doesn’t seem like one surge for January.
