2019 DLR Grad Nite Dates Announced

Thank you very much! This is a big part of my planning process and will definitely help me plan next years VGC stay.

We are looking at making our first trip to DL, around June 4th next year. I imagine the parks will be busy regardless but does Grad night make it unbearable or will we even notice it?

We will only have 2 full park days and if 2019 dates fall along the same lines as 2020 dates - then both are park days will be Grad nights. What kind of impact will this have on our visit? I am now considering pushing my cruise back 2wks in order to miss grad nights.

Since they changed the ticket structure this year I don’t think grad nites are having the kind of impact that they’ve had in years past.

What you will notice is the hours adjusted those nights. Usually one park closes early. Not a lot, but it won’t stay open until midnight for sure. This year it was DCA but that can always change

We usually go for Memorial week and end up with 2-3 Grad nights. Never noticed a difference in crowds, especially during the day. In fact, I wouldn't have known they were there except they LOVE to shout along with the Haunted Mansion stretch scene (but it was only as issue when we rode it late at night).

We were there for grad night 2017 and it was unbearable. Just one families opinion but we will NEVER go during that time again. They had middle school classes there too and it was as crowded as I’ve ever experienced, even more than Christmas week. Closed the park to anyone who had not been in the park earlier in the day the night we had dinner reservations and the lines to get in almost made us miss dinner.

The ticket structure for Grad Night has changed since 2017. There are now 3 kinds of tickets, at different price points, with 3 different kinds of park access. This new structure was tested for the first time this year and seems to have helped alleviate the massive crowding that you experienced. The Grad Night thread linked above should have been updated with this information.
You make a good point about the middle school groups. The end of the academic year is a time for many school groups of all ages to visit DLR. So you will see large groups of students, ranging from about 5th-6th grade up to 12th, roaming through the parks from May through June.

I'm guessing this was also the last weekend for last year's So Cal ticket deal.
