Yeah.... Dining Plans are NOT meant as a money-saver. I don't know how people somehow ever got that idea in their heads....

Because historically it was true. Up until the last several years, it was quite easy to come out ahead with any of the dining plans, if that plan matched the way you wanted to eat. Recently, though, plan prices have increased faster than restaurant prices, plus changes in the entitlements, and the math has correspondingly changed.

The dining plan doesn't save you money just like DVC doesn't save you money.

Disney isn't in the business of losing money...
