2017 Dining Plan - Confirmed Information - changes from 2016

This actually makes me more inclined to use the Dining Plan on our next trip. I never ate a dessert with my meal, usually too full to eat it. I'll be glad to have a snack credit for my Starbucks in the morning, and a treat later in the day as well.

I, too like that you can choose to eat the snack at a different time. Plus you will have a lot more options than the parfait and little cake.

Has there been any word on pricing yet, or will it be released tomorrow when the booking for 2017 opens?

I saw on another thread that the QS plan is 44.13 per adult. But that is the current price.

Here is a link that was posted in the other thread giving details. The blog states it is confirmed information released by Disney but I can not find the information on the Disney website yet. I am guessing that the information has been given to travel agents.

I have a hard time calling anything "confirmed" when it's only posted on three blogs.

I am, however, interested to see what becomes of the ability to trade a QS credit for three snacks. That ability was highly publicized last year when it was "expanded." It seems a QS credit may only be worth two snacks, now.

It's confirmed because it is on official Disney documents

So the quick service has completely lost any and all "value". You just took any essentially 2 snacks and gave back one. It was almost impossible to get value prior to this change. Now TS its essentially the same, since they took the CS dessert away but have you another snack.

You know as well as I do that this "perk" has never been an official one with Disney. We've all been doing it for years, and when the rumored changed came out last year, this was one of the rumors. This one didn't make it into the official literature, but it does seem to be easier to do it around the World than it was before. So, will Disney address this use or leave it up to the restaurants/snack places? It will be interesting to see where this one goes. Considering you've been able to do it at both Flower and Garden and Food & Wine, that might be the first test of whether the continue to give 3 or just 2 or you're able to do it at all.

Is the new brochure a good indicator that Chef Mickeys, Akershus, and Tusker House will remain as as one credit for the foreseeable future? This really is the deciding factor of whether I pay full price for the DDP.

The restaurants at Coronado Springs Resort are operated by a third party which has until the end of the year to sign their contract. Same with many of the restaurants in Epcot and Disney Springs so its much too early for them to be listed. Most likely, however, if they participate this year, they will do the same next year.

Considering the final brochure will not be done until some time late December or early January, not really. It could be that "glitch" was done to see what the reaction would be and they've decided to hold off and not do it at all. It could be they will announce it tomorrow. It could be they'll wait and announce it closer to October, since that was the month the rumors were saying it would be changed.

If you're waiting to get the DDP, you can wait until 72 hrs before your check-in to add it. If it's not part of some kind of deal, then I'd wait for now.

I'm assuming they will fix Tiffins too...no way is a two-credit changing to a one-credit with those menu prices!

That's definitely a mistake which really gives us no way of knowing what they will do with those rumored 2 credits buffet changes.
