2017 Christmas Party Dates

I am planning a trip beginning late October until early November. While looking at flights I noticed that if we fly home on the 8th the flights are less than half as much as if we fly on the 9th or later that week.

Wondering if anyone has any idea as to when the Christmas Party might start? My daughter would really like to attend and if we fly home on the 8th the only dates we could attend would be the 6th or 7th. I have no idea if the party dates ever start that early.

Any thoughts?

Alternately, I could just make sure we don't fly home until the 10th (and hope that for sure the party will happen by the 9th even though flights would be more expensive).

2016 the first one was nov 7th. generally it's about a week after halloween but it can be longer between them. disney does what disney wants but lately things are going as long as they possibly can get away with. Looking at the calendar with halloween on a saturday, you might get luck with a 8th first date but it'll probably be 9th or 10th if I had to place a bet.

Of course they do announce this one very early, usually in the aprilish time frame, can you hold off that long for flights?

Thank you for responding. I would have liked to hold off on getting flights but for some reason it seems they are booking up quite quickly (flying out of Edmonton). I'm getting concerned the prices will only go up. If we fly home on the 8th flights are approximately $250 per person. On the 9th (all the way up to the 20th) they go up to almost $900 per person (one way). The joys of planning a WDW Vacation
