We booked a bounceback trip (with FREE DINING) for 2017 and selected August 11-15 at Pop Century. Now I'm wondering if it would be better to go to WDW over the July 4th weekend since that was also included in the free dining BB offer.

I read how the July 4th weekend 2016 was not as bad as people expected it to be. If we go over that weekend, we could stay an extra day (less time to take off work) as compared to the August trip. But I'd appreciate your thoughts - is that weekend wild and crazy or is it just mainly MK? I'd appreciate any help - thanks!

I personally would do July. August can be more on the humid side and also a better chance of rain. Crowd wise, I couldn't tell you

We usually go in August so we're familiar with all that humidity! And we've gotten used to the lower crowds in August, so I guess I'm wondering if that July 4th weekend time period is just INSANE for crowds, or if you can get around it by zigging rather than zagging? We don't like the huge rides (no roller coasters, etc.) or the big rides that everyone is usually waiting to ride.

We are planning a trip to Disney August 2017. We have always gone during December/January. I'm not worried about the heat and humidity as much as I am about the crowds. CrabbyPatty, I see you are familiar with Disney in August. What are the crowds like? We will be going for 6-7 nights somewhere between 8/1 and 8/10. Please give me your thoughts. We have been to disney enough so this isn't a must see everything trip, but I definitely dont' want to be in the middle of HUGH crowds.

I would do July since I'm a sucker for the great fireworks (but it's usually an insanely packed evening on the 3rd or 4th, but the fireworks are great)
