I have been stalking WDW's site for months and months trying to feel out an estimate for our May 2016 trip. When I went on this morning to finally book, the prices seem way higher!!! Is it just me or have the prices increased substantially?

The prices displayed on the page right after you put your dates in are actually displaying as average prices. Click on the resort you want and the price for the cheapest room should be much lower than the original one on the first page. Seems to be happening to a lot of people.

I've only priced out CL at the monorail resorts, but I agree that they have increased quite a bit (at least for July). Compared to this year, Poly GV CL and CR BLV CL increased $43/nt and GF RPC increased $53/nt for the same time frame.

And there are no discounts being offered yet so we're only seeing normal rack rates at the moment.

I ran the math and it's about $200 more for the same trip we had booked last year, and about $500 more than our first trip in 2013.

Same here. I'm hoping for a Bb again. The price was about 150.00 more for 14 nights pre-discounts.

I had already booked my 2016 trip + paid for tickets before the 'packages' were released. No difference whatsoever. (This is for AoA in June 2016)

Touring Plans says dining plan prices have increased slightly per night:

  • Quick Service $42.77/night, child 3-9 $17.54 – was $41.99 and $16.03
  • Regular plan $61.82, child $20.98 – was $60.64 and $19.23
  • Deluxe Plan $111.73, child $32.56 – was $109.53 and $29.86

Biggest increase being in the per night price of the deluxe plan.

I know these are rack rates but i have been pricing everything since the start of this year for my 2016 trip. Today when i checked Art of Animation at Rack rate was $1,000 more than it was before the rates came out. Again i know its because there was no discount but that seems high to me.

I was planning Aug 12 for 10 days with Dining, Memory Maker, and Park hopper for 2 adults and 2 kids (12 and 5). Price came out to $8474.30

Now the price for Pop Century at the same time and days with all the same stuff came out to $5393.90. The Pop Century prices seem the same but AOA seems higher. When i have been pricing everything out AOA was always only $1k more than Pop so i was able to justify the stay at AOA. But with it being $2k more right now i'm not sure its going to happen.

Again i realize there are no discounts yet.

Your numbers seemed really high to me so I just ran a quote and I think you may have been looking at a Family Suite at AoA rather than a Little Mermaid room.

Prices for standard room @ AoA 8/12/16 - 8/22/-16 = $5,639 (including 10 day PH tickets, regular Dining Plan and MM) (Deluxe dining increases that to $7,252)

Prices for AoA Family Suite same as above = $7,824 ($9,437 for Deluxe dining)

Based on the numbers I got AoA would be about $250 more than POP which seems more accurate on a 10 day stay. Hopefully this is true and AoA will still be on your list! :)

I haven't looked at all the numbers, but if people are only seeing a 3% increase in room rates at the Poly it looks like Disney is raising the rates the more at the values and moderates. It also looks like they are raising Fall rates at a higher percentage than summer rates.

I was going to say that I was seeing the same thing as well. Poly is nice but $670 a night is WAY too much!

Yep. Our first two choices were deluxes (AKL and Contemporary) but the prices! Yow! Not until we're a whole lot richer than we are now. :)

We're doing a moderate and honestly, if the beds worked out we'd have done a value. AoA is adorable, but the beds... not going to work for my big guys. Sad, because DD would have loved it.

I don't know if your dates are flexible, but FWIW, that's only about $200 less than we're paying for a moderate, 11 days/10 nights, deluxe dining, memory maker, 3 adults and 1 kid. (Although we didn't do parkhoppers, so that would factor in. You could probably save a chunk of money by looking at other dates. (But not everyone can travel in value season- that's why it's value.) :)

I was thinking the same thing- the prices seem higher. I booked 2 nights room only at Beach Club in May for March 2016. The CM told me they were quoting the highest price of 2015 per night and that it would most likely go down after 2016 prices were released- that didn't happen! It's actually a few bucks more per night than what I was quoted during my reservation. I'm hoping there will be room discount- I know we had one on our last trip in March of this year.

I was booking in the family suite as a treat for the kids. Plus we are going with another family of 5 so they wanted to be next to us. But at that price i think i'm going to ask them to get 2 rooms at Pop which will save them around $500 and will save me $2K.

My days aren't flexible because of the family of 5 that we are going with. She is a teacher and can only go during certain times.

According to MouseSavers, the per night rate of a standard room at the Beach Club during the regular rate time went up by $30 a night. That's like a 6.5% increase. Are the yearly increases this large usually? Or was the Beach Club increase this large because of the refurbs or something?
