There will not be much you couldn't control.

We use an agent EVERY time. We make our own ADRs and Fast passes if we want. But there again, there's a certain level of trust between us. We refer people to her all the time. She makes sure we are well taken care of.

Are you able to PM me the name and phone number of your agent?

If not, would it happen to be the same company hinted at a few hours ago by PP?

I know that the FD dates listed are still just rumored, but having been on these boards for years, the rumors usually end up being true. That being said I am really surprised and disappointed at the blackout dates listed. I am from NJ and have taken advantage of the FD promotion for Jersey week, usually by leaving a day or two early and checking in on the last day before a blackout week starts. The blackouts have typically been the actual Jersey week and Thanksgiving week and some time mid-October for Columbus Day. I looked and the 2015 blackouts were 10/3-10/24, 11/1-11/7, 11/20-12/14. If the rumored dates are true, this is a huge difference in blackout dates, and completely ruins any chance of our family getting FD. Unfortunately that is a deal breaker for my family, since they only want to stay on-site and love doing the DDP. So that basically ruins a fall WDW trip for us.

Any thoughts as to why such a difference in blackout dates, and why they would include Thanksgiving week in FD?

I think October and beginning of November are just too busy for them to offer free dining. I think it's just supply and demand. They will rent the rooms without free dining.

Great info. :thumbsup2 This should be made into a free dining, ticket sticky.
I hope it's helpful! I also mentioned this before, but worth mentioning again, on the morning "we" believe (*hint* *hint* Black and Dirty Steve, lol) FD will be released, the DIS boards may be down for maintenance, so we might not be able to use the DIS to share news with each other until the DIS Boards are back up (does anyone know exactly when DIS goes down for nightly maintenance, and when it comes back up?) So make sure to just go straight to Disney's website to check for FD offer. I made the mistake in the past (in a sleepy haze) of just checking the DIS boards; mistakenly thinking there were no posts announcing FD was live (I had no idea the DIS Boards went down for maintenance); and then went back to sleep!

I'm making a reservation for 2 rooms as we are going with another family and really hoping for connecting rooms. Is there any way to book 2 rooms at the same time or can I only book one at a time? We used a TA last time so never had to do this part. I'm just worried in the frenzy I won't be able to get the second room in the same category. Any helpful hints would be appreciated :)

if the November rumored dates hold, I will need to make 4 reservations (2 families): 2FD, 2RO;not sure yet how to try to do that.

You can request, but they will not guarantee. I have always gotten connected rooms if requested when we travel with others, but they always claim that they cannot guarantee. My wife and I, though, have to get two rooms to accommodate our family of 7. They DO guarantee us connectors in that instance. Each room, though, has a separate reservation number.
