Thank you for clarifying! I had a feeling she had no idea what she was talking about, but was afraid maybe something had changed. I am guessing it would be better to leave with the dates I already have booked and can reduce # of days afterwards? I am hesitant to change anything at the moment now.. lol

Well, they're mod policy has changed. If you go to lessen the amount of days, the entire new stay needs to be available as a new booking. I'd really try and book with what you'll stick with.

Opinions please - it would be about $370 more to stay at CBR for our dates vs staying at All Stars and upgrading the FD to the regular plan (which is what we did last year)

We've only gone once before - last October and stayed value (pop) and it was fine. Good bus service, used the pool only 1x. DH Thinks the increased cost is worth it to have a bigger room and better pools for a second trip. I'm just seeing $$ add up and want to keep costs low :P

Anyone want to chime in and sway me one way or the other?

Just checking in! How many of you are planning on staying up all night and how many are setting their alarms throughout the night? I'm going to do my best to stay up through the night. I plan to take a nap later and have some tea on hand for the night. Plus I'll have lots of things to do like watch the new game of thrones! ;)
I'm planning on napping today and staying up tonight! My husband gets up for work at 4:00 (3:00 EST) and I usually can't fall asleep after he leaves so I don't think it will really make a difference! I won't be watching Game of Thrones, but I have started reading the series!(I'm way behind on that train!)

Oh boy... I was under the impression that it was only if you added days that the dates had to be available, not to reduce.. I better just call now and do it!

We were in the exact same boat. It's a tough decision because either option is great. Most people would say it's worth it for a moderate, and that's what we decided. Until we changed our mind last week hahaha. We decided to go value and use the savings to attend 1 of the parties. Hope this helps!

We have our heart set on the Food and Wine (FYI - this event was the tipping point for husband, who asked this year "so are we going back to Disney this year? I REALLY liked the steak..."), but it ends on Nov 14th. We had FD last year, and you can ROCK the F&W with snack credits (counter service meal = 3 snack credits)! Maybe they're starting the Nov FD on the 15th because the F&W ended on the 14th... oh, isn't speculating over morning coffee fun?!? <3. Plan B is to go for five days beginning on Sept 30/Oct 1st, but there's no holiday in there, so it means pulling the DS out of school for a longer period of time.
I totally think it's starting on the 15th because of the F&W! And I have heard from multiple people on here who say pull those kids out of school while they are still young and you can do it!!

We've gone back and forth over booking a family suite at AoA vs doing 2 rooms at CBR. We're set on AoA now though, and I'm really looking forward to having a microwave in the room to warm up our leftover pastries for breakfast in the morning! We will also use it for things like oatmeal and easymac in the room so our picky eaters have some familiar foods if need be. I know you can use the microwaves at the quick service, but what a pain compared to having it right in your room! :)

We said we weren't going again for a few years when we went last year haha. So now im just trying to squeeze in one actual last visit before we return to our financially responsible adult decision making :rolleyes1

I'd be happy going back to pop since we had a great stay, but DH says we need to try a different resort. I suppose he's right. Haha

Oh, I did not know that. We book CBR and add a phantom 5 TH person to guarantee a Murphy bed. I did not know all the preferred rooms have them at POR. Looks like we will go back to POR (if we don't get addicted to POLY This trip.)
How do you book a phantom person??? We actually have a pass member that is planning on staying there with us but doesn't want to buy the 10 day tickets we are getting.

I will likely be up. I won't be as to sleep with all the excitement and chatter anyway.

Hello everyone! Just trying to figure out the best deal to take advantage of free dining! I need some help please!

Our dates are flexable but plan for November. There are 5 of us (one is a baby). We want to stay at Pop but are open to others depending on the best deal. Not sure how many days we want to stay yet (between 7-14 days).

Questions:

If we stay at a value we have to get the park hopper or waterpark + in order to get FD? What about at a mod?

Do I need to buy tickets for each day we plan on staying in order to get FD? Or can I just buy say 10 days of passes if we are staying 14 days but still get dining on all 14 days?

We want the TS,QS and snack plan, willing to pay the difference in price (how much is the price difference?)

Any suggestions to get the best deal would be appreciated!

Are you only going to use the pool once again? Or use it more? If you're not going to use the extra amenities, I'd stay with the lower cost.

You'd have to book a child under 3 years old - so that wouldn't work for your situation.

1. yes, you'd have to add PH or WPFM to your tickets on ANY level resort reservation.

2. The dining credits are tied to nights at the resort, so you just need to have the minimum number of tickets or whatever you need to qualify for FD for the full stay.

:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I personally would upgrade to mod for $370. I just love the moderate resorts and you get the full dining plan with FD.
Unless you are going during my dates, then you should book value. :rolleyes1

We booked our package right before prices went up. Are they going to change our prices to reflect the new ones when we upgrade to free dining? I kinda know the answer the already but I'm hoping maybe I'm wrong lol

Haha! Gee thanks :p

I have no idea if we would use the extra amenities at the mod, and I'm worried about the bus service at CBR because there are so many stops. Gah I'm so bad at making executive decisions!

I'm all about the family time/life experience outweighing a week of school, and he'll be 10 in September, so I figure I have a couple more years where I can do this reasonably guilt-free. It's always great to have the masses cheering you on though - voices of experience are powerful things!

They offered FD last year for October 25 – October 31, 2015 and November 8 – November 19, 2015 - smack dab in the middle of the EF&W - no such luck this year, if the dates hold true. We'll aim for Sept 30th start, but what's this I hear about October being hurricane season?!? Ah well - it will just add to the memories, hmmm?
