The TEA an AECOM have released their estimates for theme park attendance worldwide in 2015.

@lockedoutlogic I know you like market share, Universal's went up more than a full point whereas Disney went up .9.
Yes 2016 will be a telling year. This is very interesting. It'll be even more interesting to see what happens in 2016.
I'd think the one thing you could say accounts for an increase at DHS and AK is the park hopper. Many only spend a half day at both of those parks while they'll spend a full day at Epcot.Interesting that AK and DHS were up almost as much as MK, and more than EPCOT despite nothing really new at AK in 2015 and closing of attractions at DHS
Like I said in another thread, the TEA numbers are garbage. Cedar Fair announced that Knott's received 5 million visitors last year but it's still only at 3.7 mil on the TEA report.
If you're looking for exact numbers then yes they're likely useless. If, as most would, you want a comparison of park popularity and performance over previous years... they may be quite consistent.

I think most people look to them for relative rankings and performance. But when the numbers are handed to them on a silver platter and TEA chooses to ignore them then something is wrong.
Actually no, not if the goal is that relative ranking. For that to work you have to use the same methodology for all entries so you can't just cherry pick one set of numbers.
.
But I'm pretty sure some of the numbers are not estimates at all but are actually taken from financial reports, so it's not just cherry picking one set of numbers.

Now there are rumors that Disney somehow gets the numbers fudged. If true then the whole exercise is worthless.
