2015 Roll Call

And you don't think I'm curious about this? I'm always looking for a way to surprise the wife!

well, we're only @ WDW for 4 nights and then going on 8 day southern carribean cruise - so just trying to see or do something we have done before, and keep it inexpensive. (ie. shows, outdoor movies, resort hopping and eating a nice TS meal at a location we've never been before, etc.). You've been to WDW many more times than I - any ideas? ps....no kids this trip !

Can you talk to my DH.....I would like a nice surprise of any kind. Heck, I'll take a surprise Timmies.

You guys are seriously depressing me.

111, 273 and 343 days for us.
G, you'll be in the single digits is only a few days...that will help. Let's be real though...you're the ones that's depressing me. You have 3 trips booked in less than a year. ::yes::

In our case we are at Animal Kingdom for 16 nights, so spending needs to be curtailed.

Well, my ideas could be named "fifty shades of frugal", often it is something simple like a bottle of plum wine from the China Pavilion, or a Massage at Animal Kingdom Lodge that I can claim through my health plan, or a shopping trip to Premium Outlets (yes, with a Budget). The early morning Balloon ride at Downtown Disney, attacks a discount and was a major thrill. Something simple like a Venti, De-Caf Soy Latte from Starbucks seems to work too (yes, I have their card preloaded and collecting stars). Also, when I go to HESS for the beer run (for Moi) I look for some wine or something special that may match her taste. I guess now that I put this on paper ... I suck .... ;) :rotfl2:

I did manage to get her in First class for the way down to Orlando. Dad with the kids in stowage. popcorn::

Have you eaten at Boma?

I might look for an inexpensive tour this year like "behind the Seeds". Anyone have a suggestion? Don't want to break the bank.

Yes ago, we used Dining as our special things, but with weight gain and being frugal, we have moved away from this.

We will be at AKL too from the 21-31!

I didn't realize that we could make massage therapy claims outside of our own province! Who are your health benefits through? I may have to give Sun Life a call this week and see if I can claim it! That would be a nice treat for my wife!

On our 1st full day @ wdw we will likely do a combo of resort hopping (to see how the other half lives) and DTD. Also will be eating @ KONA CAFE and then hitting the beach to watch WISHES

We only have 1 full day in the parks and have chosen EPCOT. We are eating @ TEPPAN EDO for the first time for dinner.

Our last day we may check out the outlet mall.

Basically a relaxed pace 2 of 3 days and trying to see and do a few things we could not do with the kids. The main portion of the vacation is the cruise.....looking forward to the sun, sand and great food.

Yes, I will admit its fun to have so many trips planned within a calendar year....I just wish the first one came sooner.

Sigh....after the week I have just had, I could use a vacation right about now. Or a lobotomy. :rolleyes2

I've read that due to the construction you can not watch Wishes from the POLY beach now. They have blocked it off. Maybe you can go to the GF?

I generally don't plan too much in advance but I did plan March Break last year and I'm sure we will have 1 more trip this year if not 2. I want to go back to Punta Cana or maybe Cuba and I just can't miss FL in August.

Patches??? I've been through it too....it's much harder than you think it will be, even when you know it's coming.

I have bluecross. See you on the 21st! We are renting DVC points so we will likely be on the 5th floor, near the lobby.

It looks like I'll get a second visit with the Mouse this year! :cool1:

DD and her husband are moving to Vancouver this summer and she's determined to get in a trip to DL before school starts (she's a teacher). Since her hubs will be too busy settling in at work, I've been tagged to keep her company. Happy to oblige. A great excuse to use those air miles.

Still have 6 weeks until we head down to Florida. But only 2 weeks until we leave for our week in Cuba. I can hear a mojito calling my name.

Are ya sure you don't want to switch the August heat and humidity for the Halloween festivities in October? ;) 'Cause I am pretty sure I still owe you a sundae from Ghirardelli's. Or at the very least, a drink from the Tacky Tiki Bar. Seriously....you should come down Thanksgiving week ::yes::. Just sayin' :rolleyes1 .

Yup, its been awful. Horrible to watch her health decline, and more horrible yet to make the call that she shouldn't suffer any longer. Now its just quiet....and painfully lonely. How such a tiny, quiet little kitty had such a large presence in our household is almost baffling. But I miss her. Painfully so. :sad1:

So weird to know that we won't have any cat care to arrange for any of our upcoming trips. I think that our neighbours who looked after her for us are as broken hearted as we are. They loved her, too.

We're also at AKL arriving on the 21st (till the 29th) ! Where are you flying from?

And we're also DVC standard view.

See you all there!

We are flying from Calgary with a layover in Denver. We won't get in until late, but direct flights are substantially more expensive!

What about you?

6:30 am from Toronto. :scared1: It's gonna be a tough one with 3 kids and a grumpy husband!

Cocktails baby !!!!!!!!! You just never know where I'm going to pop up this year......after all, I said I wasn't going last summer. Thanksgiving weekend had crossed my mind

We have two little ones as well, so we tried to avoid the early morning flight! We originally booked an 8:50AM, but United changed our flight so many times that we ended up with a 6:00AM departure and a 4+ hour layover. So luckily we were able to change it at no cost. We now have an 11:55AM departure and arrive in Orlando at 9:00PM. As long as there are no delays, it should be a pretty painless trip!

Just thought I would post a quick update that DS and I have added 3 days onto our March trip this year, so it is a 13 day road trip from start to finish now.

I got an offer from Silver Lake Resort (own there, but have never actually been there) for a three night stay in a 2BR unit for $125. So I called to check availability to see if I could tack it onto the start of our vacation, and it was available! And to get this great rate, all I have to do is sit through a 90 minute (read 3 hour) "Owners Update" repeating my favorite mantra "no, no, no, no, no..." Really, not so bad as teenage son will be fast asleep until noon probably and A+ won't be joining us until Saturday as we move back home to Vistana Resort. She flies down once classes are over, but has to put up with the boys for the long drive back home. Poor DD will be housesitting now that she is in college. Her break doesn't align with the rest of us; actually will probably be DS' last trip too!

It is really starting to feel "real" now that it's just under 2 months away!

Yay for the trip extension! :cool1:

You might find that the owners update at Silver Lake isn't as bad as you think. The Vistana one was 90 minutes, almost right to the second.....nothing more. Definitely nothing like Westgate's (which I was sure would NEVER end ) and not nearly as intolerable. We did the same as you....early morning while the kids were sleeping, so we lost no planned park time.

Sorry to hear that your DD will miss out on all the fun. It will be nice for your and your son to have some "guy time" before Mom arrives, though. Those kind of moments are so special.
