2015 Rate Watch

Just read elsewhere Tuesday, July 15th. That was all that was said did not say how they knew that. So there is another date to mix in with all the others.

I was told by a CM around 14th/15th but that was awhile ago and I took it with a grain of salt.

October 2015 here! Can't wait for prices to come out so we can book! We're planning a 10 day vacation...this will be my almost 2 year old's first visit! I think we've changed the resort we're staying at way too many times, and I am so ready to book so we can leave our plans alone! Lol

I am planning the first and second week of December next year and staying at pop. I've toyed with the idea of other resorts but so far I think pop suits us the best.

It is my pet peeve that Disney doesn't release 2015 rates in time for January ADR bookings. I would seriously reconsider a January trip again for this. It's so inconvenient, especially considering we've already handed a ton of money over for races and will hand over a lot for our trip for our family of 5 as well. Ok, rant over. I will be on vacation next week so I've been predicting they will come next week...and my in-laws will want to be out doing something that day I'm sure. Plus, the 15th is registration for the PHM weekend. Joy. I think I need to get a little Disney magic fix STAT!

I entirely agree. We're also a family of five, and ready to book a split stay between AKL, GF and BWI for Jan. 4-12. I'm registered for the full marathon, and our three boys and I are registered for the marathon weekend 5K. We're already starting to make dining reservations for our trip, but cannot book resort reservations online.

Yesterday, I decided to just call to make resort reservations, but that particular phone CM said she is "not allowed" to book resort reservations for me, and must transfer me to "sports" because I'm registered for the marathon. I know that's not accurate and it confirmed my preference to book online, so now I'll wait.

It's also odd to get such different responses from CMs regarding the timing. In the past few days, I've heard the following from three different CMs regarding room-only rates/bookings online for 2015:

1) Available in the next two weeks;
2) Available at the end of the summer; and
3) Available closer to the end of the year.

That last one is my favorite. They are going to release rates for 2015 "closer to the end of" 2014? That would be odd. I can actually see the nightly rack rates for my dates if I plug in December 31 as an arrival date and January 12 as a departure date. Then I click "rate details" and get the rate for each night of my stay. But I'd like to actually book it, and I'd prefer to book it online.

Haha, so one CM told me they'll be released in the next 2 weeks and another said any day now, my friend called and told her July 21 or 23. What a joke!

Honestly it doesn't surprise me that they don't know. There's probably only a few people who know the top secret release date haha. However I think they should just say they aren't sure, or "July", instead of throwing a random day out there.

We called yesterday and were told we could not book rooms yet. After asking on the board, I was introduced to the idea of CM roulette. We called back today and got everything taken care of.

Not that you have so much free time to waste calling WDW 1000 times, but it really does seem variable.

I do know that you CAN book room only now for 2015 by calling in, it's just packages that you can't book. But since those systems don't work together you have to pay a deposit for the room only (which is hefty with Deluxes and more than one resort I'd imagine) and then you have to wait for that to be refunded while paying the package deposit. The whole process just frustrates me. I will only book room only if they don't come out to the end of the year. That's just ridiculous!

So it's officially the 2nd Wednesday in July (which is when the rates have been released for the last 2 years) if they were to be released today, what time do you think it would happen?

Adding to the theories...

Just called to make some ADR's for January and asked as an aside when they thought the packages might be out. The CM from dining put me on hold whilst she spoke to reservations. She came back on to tell me that it will be "no later than the end of July". Hopefully sooner rather than later (given this is now messing with my 180+10 ADRs!).

Just read on a FB group from a TA that room rates are out. But packages aren't, but I haven't seen this to confirm anywhere.
