We are planning on a trip (finally!) sometime in 2015, we were hoping for the beginning of the year. How reliable are other sites' refurb lists? They are saying that Soarin' will be down until May :worried: I'm hoping that they are wrong despite it reallly needing the refurb.

Also it has been awhile since we last went. We know that there really is no "slow" time. But when is the greatest probability of low crowds/ghost town Disney? That would be awesome.

Thanks again! :D

I usually follow the refurbish list here on the DisBoard for dates.

The other thing I do is call DLR and listen to their list of refurbishment dates.

Refurbished list (714) 781-4636 select park info and follow prompts.
Have pad and pen ready to write.

I know you can also look on the Disneyland website maps, click on the star of the attraction and it will list dates if it's set for a closure. This takes too long for me.

Thank you!! I didn't even know you could do that! :D

We use isitpacked.com as a crowd tracker. It's very spot on and it's free. Just looked it up and it says mid-January through early March it's ghost town to lower level crowds (except for Valentine's week, then it's packed). Hope this helps

Yep, Jan/Feb are good times to travel for lower crowds as long as its not a special event weekend, or holiday like President's or MLK day.

For refurbs, the only reliable source is Disney itself. And even then, things change at the last moment.

If you have to book now due to airfare or whatever remember that there's a lot to do at DL & DCA even when some of the major rides are down! (Granted, I'd hate to visit during this period if the rumored refurb lists turn out to be true- I'm just trying to be optimistic if you have to go during that time.)
