Usually has ben announced at the end of February beginning of March. They are supposedly planning one for the 60th at Disneyland so I would expect one at WDW as well.
I'm starting to think that it isn't going to happen this year. Don't you think that they would have announced it in conjunction with the diamond celebration announcement? That starts on May 22nd, which typically would be the day that they would hold the 24 hour event. It just seems like it would have made sense to announce it all at once. Last year, it was announced on February 28th. Hmmmm...not sure what to think about this one. I extended our trip by a day hoping to catch this event, but now I'm not so sure it'll happen.

Ok...so here's my situation...I'm booked for WDW 5/20 to 5/24...on 3/21 I can book my FP+ ressies....if there is no official announcemnt before 03/21...how should I plan my FP+ selections? If there is a 24hr party, then I plan on booking late FP+ for MK. If there is no 24hr party, then Friday will be my Epcot day and Saturday will be my MK day. So if there is no annoucement by 3/21, should I book MK FPs on the assumption that there will be a party? This way I have my plan in place when the official announcement is made. An if in case there is no 24 event, then I'll just change my FPs sometime before my trip. Does this makes sense? Thanks Everyone!
Does this affect hours for the next day at all(may 23rd)? That's our mk day and it's currently scheduled for 9-12 with emh evening. They won't reduce those hours because of the party the day before will they? Hoping crowds will be lighter after the party

It is just a normal single day ticket. A regular annual pass will work, not sure if that date is a black out date for the seasonal pass or not, but if it is not blacked out you are good to go. Yes you can leave and come back.
