Hi, I have reserved a few 2015 cash reservation dates to link up some points stays and notes that the rates seem quite reasonable at this early stage. The CM states "these are 2014 rates which are subject to Change and Disney will notify you of any rate change". Brings me to my next question- well how high can they jack the rates up?

The whole point of my reserving the room early was to try to lock myself in a rate that was low vs peak last minute. So, this is for my Jan trip and over a wknd and now the rate is reasonable as I've stated above but how I'll it be AFTER the rate adjustment in 2015?

Anyone have data on rate changes or % changes for seasons according to prior years? I am wondering if there is some logic or whether Disney may take me to the cleaners?

What they do is quote you the highest rate for this current year and then they will adjust when the next year's rates are released. Unless you are going at peak times like Easter and Christmas, the room rate should go down or at least stay the same. This is how Disney reservations works when rates have not been released yet. You should have been quoted a pretty high rate, not one I would generally call reasonable.

You can't lock in a lower room rate at Disney by booking early. It doesn't work that way. When they release rates for 2015, everyone booked for a trip in 2015 will pay those rates (unless they have some kind of discount available, of course ).

As for the DVC discount for cash reservations at villas, that may or may not be available for your dates. It 's not available all the time. When it is, it's 25%.
