2014 itineraries ??

The guide on our recent trip told me that ABD would be refining some existing itineraries and bringing back improved versions of discontinued trips. He said he thought the Yosemite trip would make a return. I don't know if he meant this year or in upcoming years. We'll find out soon, I suppose.
Cool! I'm sure there are good reasons they chose those destinations; there was just something about the itineraries that didn't draw people (or maybe was unsustainable?) It will be interesting to see what comes back, and what they will look like!

Yes, it was called "Imperial Cities" and featured Austria & the Czech Republic (the cheater way to spell it. ;) )

It went to Vienna, Salzburg and Prague, and ran from 2007 to 2009 (it was renamed to "Storybook Kingdoms" in 2009.)

ABD has cancelled and then brought back re-tooled versions of trips before. There was a Canadian Rockies trip in 2006 that came back in 2008 as "Rocky Trails and Mountie Tales". There was a "Flavors of France" trip that was cancelled, and now they have "Esprit de France". It will be interesting to see if Austria comes back.

With the emergence and popularity of Danube river boat cruising there is a real "awakening" of the tourist aspect of this region. People return (myself included) and brag about the beauty of the region and that is free advertizing which ABD can use to push their product. There is so much history it would be a great place to visit with local guides to explain more indept than other trip merchants.

Czechoslovakia was the old name when the two countries were under communist rule. In the early 90s, they gained their independence and democracy and were called the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

1993, right? I remember that, and I was still in elementary school. Lol
