Has anyone received any notification on when the call in is to book the 2012 Member Cruise. We probably arent doing it this time but I have lots of friends that are planning on it. :goodvibes

There has not been a peep about anything with booking next year's cruise.

I expect to hear something in a week or 2, based on last year.

popcorn:: Not so patiently waiting here also. We are trying to plan for next year and are almost ready to give up! The ship is sailing 10/21/12 but there still has not been any official announcement of when the cruise will be available for booking. MS has been very mum and some CM have almost been rude when I've called to ask. I would have thought we'd have some information by now.

Well, by now they had already announced when they would have the call in since last year it was on November 1 or 2nd I believe. Last year they even told us on the cruise when it would be. I wonder if they are waiting to see how many people complain, I would suspect there are a great many things being reviewed by the "NEW" management at DVC. It may be that the SS Member Cruise is a goner for this year, but then why would they have told us about it on the cruise and had incentives for adding on points and getting the cruise. I also heard that this was the worst cruise they had ever had as far as Add-Ons and sales. It could be they are reviewing their options. :confused3

None of it makes any sense. They are not on the ball this year.

I read several reviews... I was really planning to go since October works better for me, but..... honestly it sounded like a giant "try to sell". If reviews are an indicator of complaints they may be rethinking the "special event" (AKA as they are locked on board SELL and don't do anything else LOL!)

I remember reading about the early member cruises and being impressed. Now... it just seems like it's just a two stop Castaway Cay at a premium

That said, I don't think they can afford to cancel it. They probably already have a contrat with DCL who wants to be PAID LOL!

I got a survey a while back to answer on how I would prefer to book the member cruise, via email or phone. Maybe they are considering a lottery via emails. Who knows? That phone in is a mess. People have a land line and a couple of cells on hold at the same time. I have gone on one, and would like to go again, but it is difficult to get through.

Last year...to book the Members Cruise 2011...the call in date was 10/1 or 10/2. The only way I know it was early October is because I was sitting on the Disney Magic in the lounge on the last day (debarkation taking place) with 4 phones going to get us booked.

The good news is we were able to enjoy this years member cruise. So the previous post that call in date was Nov 1 or 2 is about a month off. I know they had the call in date published before we went on the Transatlantic Cruise aboard the Magic so I am guess they released the date before the middle of September.

I have not heard a peep but just wanted to clarify how it was done last year...I am just as impatient as the rest of you here. I got so impatient with them not releasing the information I booked other trips now. I will not be going on the 2012 Members cruise but good luck to anyone who is planning on going...may the pixie dust be with you!!!!!

The 2012 cruise is sailing about 5 weeks later than the 2011 cruise. On that basis, no great surprise that the timetable has been later this year.

DVC has to interface with DCL to make everything happen so it's not entirely in either party's hands. I'll be very surprised if they don't give members a couple weeks' notice for booking as usual.

How do they let us DVC members know? I remember getting a postcard last year, but not everyone gets mail on time? Do they put it on DVC website or email us?

they put it on the DVC website. You'll probably see it posted somewhere on these boards first though.

I have always wanted to go but never have.

My big question is -- is it worth it?

Did anyone go and end up wishing they had done something different with their points (or $$$) instead?

It's on my bucket list but not sure if it should be or how high.

I went this past Members Cruise. We were disappointed on the DVC Members portion of the cruise. I really expected a lot more then just five days of aggressive pushing of DVC sales. There was barely even mention of the 20th anniversary of DVC.

For the 30% up-charge, I would recommend going on a regular cruise instead.

The cruise by itself, we loved!

We loved the cruises when we first started going now three cruises ago. In our honest opinion for the same amount of money I can almost do a 7 night cruise and that is what we will likely do from now on. The special gifts used to be much better than they were this year.

I believe that the reason they have not announced anything is that they are scrambling to see what if anything they can do to correct the problems and make the cruise what it used to be. I talked to several people that were putting disappointed comments and marks on their survey this year.

I guess we will see, but unless we hear that they corrected things this year was our last member cruise.

My exact feelings :thumbsup2

Actually they have two dates...a 4-night cruise September 16, 2012 and a 3-night cruise January 10, 2013.
