I sent off an enquiry form to TCD for a quote:

29th Oct - 12 Nov 2012
Flights LGW - MCO
2 adults, 3 children
OKW

The price was £8700.:scared1: That was without Ultimate tickets or the current 40% off offer/free DDP. I think I'll wait.;)

Yes I got an email from TCD saying 2012 was open for booking - not priced a trip as prefer diy. That quote is just silly!

Told DH i'd had an email from TCD, he said we're booked and I said yes but not for 2012:rotfl2:

Booking as soom as flights were released 11 months out worked well for us this year, will aim to do the same in future if possible.

If I book as soon as flights come out, does that mean that flights for my dates would be released on 12th December? Sorry to be so thick.

:scared1::scared1: I am wanting to go in oct 2012 too, think I'm too scared to get a quote now though

Hi Natalie - we will be wanting similar things, I think! Having 3 kids really bumps up the price, doesn't it?:rotfl:

sure does, we will be going round about the 3rd Oct as our holidays are earlier than the English schools. Hopefully that might mean we can get it slightly cheaper. Or am I just dreaming :rotfl2:

I thought we might get it cheaper because we were going later.:rotfl:

Yes it's 11 months from the return date. I watched the prices for a few weeks and booked the morning our flight date became available.

We are going indirect with US airways this time - price was £1000 cheaper for the 3 of us than Virgin. TCD use Virgin I think.

Some of these prices scare me...I dread to think what my prices will be for May 2013...and a wedding

I have been basing our 2012 holiday on this years prices, hoping they would be similar.I will just have to wait until April for Disney to release 2012 discounts (if any), but i cant seriously see many brits able to afford mod-lux accom without discounts. For us if we cant get free dining or something similar we will have to wait until 2013:sad2:

Daft question, sorry... and sorry for the thread hi-jack!

If I was planning for end of Sept 2012, that would mean flights and packages would be available for booking from end Oct this year.

But when would Disney announce if they're doing Free Dining? That's a major part of our plans...

I spoke to someone from Disney last week and they told me that you can book for May 2012 onwards as of April, so i am presuming they will release some offers then.

This was posted 3rd April 2010, year before I believe it was mid August they announced offers for 2010. With the economy not improving I expect, as ChipnDaleRule suggests, another early release date.

NEW! 2011 FREE Dine offer
•Book your 2011 holiday before 1st November 2010 and enjoy FREE Disney Dining at selected Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. Valid for stays completed 01 Jan - 17 Feb '11, 01 May - 02 Jun '11 and 01 Aug - 18 Nov '11
•Book before the 1st November 2010 and you’ll also receive a Disney’s 14-day Ultimate Ticket for the same price as a Disney’s 7-Day Premium ticket.

Thank you both! :thumbsup2

Seems like there may be an announcement about free dining before our booking window, which would be super.

We booked our oct 2010 holiday in June 2009 and we got free dining then.

My plan is to book flights at the 11 month window and then accommodation. If Disney doesn't have the 40% discount/DDP offer, I will definitely stay offsite. I will keep getting package quotes from travel companies in the meantime - just in case there is a glitch.;)

I have just had TCD on the phone and they are going to give me a quote for the BC. Think i will dread opening the email :rotfl2:. :rotfl2:
Won't book with them just now though as will wait to see if free ddp is announced.
Will also phone virgin and see what they come up with as last time they beat diy prices by a several hundred. If not we will also be doing diy

PM me if you get a good deal - I'll do the same for you.:) I remember that your kids get on with each other and you stay in one room. I wish ours would do that! I'm surprised that Virgin beat DIY.
