I'm looking into a trip next year, but am confused by the QSDP.

For 2012 does it include 1 snack or 2? All the US sites say 1 snack, but the UK sites (disney.co.uk, Virgin, Thomas Cook, Thomson) all say 2?

Which is correct?

QSDP is just 1 snack per person for 2012 as far as the US is concerned not sure where it is you are looking on the UK sites? Are they definitely talking about the Quick Service plan? I've not come across this before.

It's definitely one snack on QSDP for 2012. This has been officially announced by Disney. Anyone travelling this year with QSDP still gets two snacks.

This is from Virgin:

Disney Quick Service Dining Plan
Get this plan free when you book a Disney Moderate Resort and Disney's Ultimate park tickets.
Includes per person per night at over 100 locations

•2 Quick Service meals
•2 Selected snacks
•1 Refillable Resort Mug per person per stay

Disney:

Thomson:

Confused????? :confused3:confused3:confused3

We booked with Thomson a few weeks ago and booked QSDP and it was sold to us as per their brochure, 2 meals, 2 snacks, 1 refillable mug per person.

I may have read on the dining boards that US residents will only get 1 snack but UK residents will still be getting 2 snacks as I was getting confused - but I'm not sure this information is correct.

looks like its 2 for uk and 1 for usa booking
If it changes they would honner the 2 uk ones bit me would print out anything that says 2 just in case
shows its changing all the time

Method in the madness! Trying to make us brits large!!!:rotfl:

personally would like to see the end off the DDP free or paid for
Its becoming a huge Behemoth, on the free bit your realy paying for it in rack rates and tips,
On the paid its putting up prices and poorer food and smaller portions(thats part not a bad thing) for people paying cash
One time there was only the deluxe DDP where next a Snack only DDP (they did trial that one out a few years ago and it was quite good you bought vouchers for the day )

I've just took a screen grab off VH's website, it definitely says two snacks - just in case it's all change by Oct 2012 :)

For us the only one worth doing is the OKW/SSR as you get 42% off and all the discounts/free DDP & now $150 spending money.
For next year it works out at £120/nt which includes food for upto 4 adults. Considering a studio rack rate for next summer is $371.25/nt incl tax (£232/nt) I am not going to complain paying 18% tips. Even with only 3 of us in the room we feel its very good value.
I would say the food we had this time was the best yet, didn't come out of any restaurant thinking I wished there was more.

As soon as this offer ends I am back to offsite as I am sure many others will be. Not sure Disney feel they can loose so many people in the current economic climate so I personally think the free DDP offer is here for another few years yet.

Saying all that I feel they could do more for DVC owners, I know you buy in long term and feel you will get value over the years but short term I think they could do a little more.

I can't see how they could offer different dining plan components to international guests. Can you imagine the outcry? Last year VH published the dining plans for 2011 and for those of you who remember, stated that dessert was no longer included with CS credits and there was something else in there as well that upset folk, especially as this contradicted the information on given in the US. When the official brochures were released by Disney however, VH and CO then amended their breakdown of dining plan entitlements.

I am guessing this is a communication breakdown somewhere along the line. Great as it would be to keep the two snacks, it doesn't make any sense. I suppose we will have to wait and see.

But the official brochures are out and its in Black & white this time, too different offers. Easy enough to implement and no different to offering UK residents a 14 or 21 day ticket as opposed to max 10 day in US, we get offered more to entice us over.
As you say time will tell :goodvibes

if it's written in the confirmation that you receive then they have to give it to you.

it's just another line in the computer code - not difficult to implement.

we had DDP for the first time this year and i was very happy with it.

and that's even though we paid for it, i was still happy with it.
The prepaid aspect of it somehow took away the pain of the overpriced food...

I read my previous post this morning and it sounds quite snippy  Honestly wasn't intended that way :goodvibes I thinkI have just become a bit skeptical with all the inconsistencies in Disney information so I tend to regard a lot of what I read as a rumour until officially confirmed. I suppose having it in black and white could well be taken as confirmation though. It would be nice if they are still keeping the extra snack credit - not that we need it of course :lmao:

Text is a funny thing. It can be interpreted so many ways. It looked so different when I read it this morning to how it did when I posted last night.

that's so true - i've written things that i thought were completely innocent, but from the reactions it was clear that the interpretation was completely different...

i try to remember to add little smiley icons to help make it clear i don't mean to be nasty ;) ..
