Day 19 – Magic Kingdom (EMH) – Manny’s (4) - Hollywood Studios

The plan for today was to make rope drop for Magic Kingdom EMH and so we arrived at Millers Road bus stop for 7:30. We encountered quite a wait for the bus, which resulted in us not arriving at MK until 8:15. Just inside of the entrance, we made perfect timing with Snow White who had just arrived at her photo stop and so we took advantage with a few photopass pics.

Travelling further along Main Street, it seemed that the Disney photographers were out in abundance, which resulted in a few more pics on our photopass.

Since we had not eaten yet, we made a quick pit stop in Main Street Bakery to grab some breakfast.

Nigel: Cheese and ham croissant.
Sue: Danish.
Emma: Croissant.

Returning back down Main Street, we headed into Exposition Hall to transfer our ever growing photopasses onto one card. With this completed, and a few yards to the left had us waiting in line to greet Mickey and Minnie in the Town Square Theater. Mickey made a grand entrance by pocking his head around the door, which resulted in a group of children near to the front, screaming with excitement.

The queue moved rather quickly and all too soon we were making our way to the exit.

By this time the park was opened fully and we joined the milling crowd along Main Street. As another first for this holiday and since it was still quite early, we made our way to Brave meet and greet in the Fairytale Garden, alongside the castle. The queue was enormous and after a brief 10 minutes of standing with no movement, we decided to cut our losses, and head over to Fantasyland. We rode the Carousel a few times in succession and then moved on to the Haunted Mansion.

This was also quiet, which resulted in us riding it twice. Outside of Columbia Harbour House, the CM’s were ringing the bell to advertise its opening, and so we made our way inside to discover we were the first customers of the day. As I was still quite full from breakfast I decided to sit this one out.

Sue: Fish Basket – Strawberry Yoghurt – Orange Juice.
Emma: Chicken Nuggets – Strawberry Yoghurt – Diet Coke.

Continued in next post ……

It was another hot day, so we took shelter across the way, whilst waiting for Liberty Belle to return back to dock. I find this a great vantage point to view some of the rides from an unusual angle.

Back on dry land, we had a quick tour around Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe although we did not buy anything on this occasion. Just outside, the Main Street Philharmonic Band had just started their show and so we had 5 minutes rest in the shade watching them perform.

On returning back to the Main Street hub, Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party was just approaching.

We stopped for a while to take a few pictures before continuing on to the ice cream parlour.

Nigel: Double Vanilla Scoop.
Sue: Double Vanilla Scoop.
Emma: Vanilla Coke Float.

Suitably cooled off, we decided to make our way out of the park and wandered through the shops making a few purchases along the way.

We caught the bus back to OKW and spent the next few hours chilling out in the pool. Showered and changed we met up with Martin, Wendy and family at around 5:00 and headed off for our fourth visit this holiday to Manny’s. On the way, Sue called forward in an effort to reduce our waiting time and this proved to be a wise decision. The US 27 was quite busy with commuting traffic. Upon arrival we were seated in around 10 minutes, which was good considering it was still Happy Hour!

Nigel: T-bone Steak with Fries – Ice cream – 2 Bud Lights.
Sue: Half Rack of Ribs with Fries – 4 Margaritas.
Emma: BBQ Chicken with Fries – Strawberry Cheesecake – Diet Coke.

During our meal, our friends Geoff, Margaret and family called in en-route, on their way back to the Polynesian, after spending the day at Busch Gardens.

We departed from Manny’s at around 7:45 and drove to DHS where we made our way to watch Fantasmic! It was a full house again, with various activities going on to keep the waiting crowds amused including the now famous Mexican wave. After the show, we had a couple of rides on Tower of Terror, and finished off with Rock n Roller coaster before finally calling it a day.

Coming up next – Typhoon Lagoon – T Rex
