2012 Dining Plan Questions...

So I'm trying not to panic because of the seemingly much shorter list of participating restaurants for next year's dining plan (just found out yesterday the very reason we chose our dates for our surprise trip for our boys next year was discontinued - ESPN The Weekend ).

I read that it could be because some restaurants are not Disney owned and they just have to resign their agreement before being listed.

Would this include Teppan Edo? Wolfgang Puck? Maya Grill?

Anyone know?

All 3 of the retaurants you named are not Disney owned. Most likely all of the restaurants on the 2011 plan will be back so you can use that as a guide. So far, in all the years of the dining plan only one restaurant still in operation, Fulton's, has opted out of the plan.

They do this every year. It actually baffles me that Disney even goes through the process to make a Dining Plan brochure this early. Most of the restaurants hold off (for one reason or another) until late in the year. Then they are suddenly listed on the brochure. Wait until around October and I bet that they are all on there.

Last year the publication date on the final brochure was 12/10/10 and it didn't show up on the Disney website until at least a couple of weeks after that. So it does take that long.

It's always causing a lot of frustration on the boards that Disney doesn't release the final list sooner.
