Good morning everyone! You know things have gone too far when you start having dreams about where to stay at WDW! I keep going back and forth between the 1 bedroom BCV and studio and two regular rooms. The difference for our stay is about $1500. I know if I talk to the DH about this he will say STAY IN TWO REGULAR ROOMS! but I want to have a better feel for what I want to do before I approach him.

Given the nature of my OBCompulsive personality I look at pros and cons...can anyone offer any advice or think of something I am leaving out?

Quick Background: Two rooms needed - 3 adults (me, DH, DM) and one DS, 17, in one room. Two adults in the other room (DD, 21 and DD BF) Length of stay 10 nights for DH and I and 5 nights for the rest. This is not our first time at WDW, probably our 10th, I've lost track. We spend a majority of time in the parks and like to stay in the EPCOT area.

Villas
-easy laundry which is needed for length of trip
-I think it will be more space ( or feel like more space)
-MIGHT be able to get the studio to connect to get a two bedroom configuration, but not guaranteed
-full kitchen which we would use for breakfast and some of us that break in the middle of the day for lunch. We always eat TS at dinner.
-nice bathroom in the one bedroom for MEEEEEEEE

Rooms
-Cost is quite a bit less
-there would be bedding for all four of us in the one room vs. a pull out sofa

The whole bedding thing is an issue for me. Once my DM and DS arrive, DH and DS would have to sleep on that pull out sofa for five nights. I have requested an air mattress. I know if it were me, I wouldn't want to sleep on it, but DH and DS are not thrilled, but will do it.

Oh how I long for two doubles or queens in a one bedroom villa

OK....trying to post a ticker, using the one's from the DIS, I seem to be following the directions, but after I cut and paste all I'm getting is the link where my ticker is supposed to be. Which one am I supposed to use on this thread? HTML? I am NOT technically savvy, for sure.

I added info on making a ticker to the Page 1 FAQ- Hope this helps:

Find a ticker you like on someone's post. Click on it and it will take you to the site where it was created. You can then customize the background picture, text and dates.

When you are finished, a code will be created that you can copy and paste into your signature.

The code will look something like this:

{url=http://distickers.com/ticker/}{img}http://distickers.com/ticker/tickers/7xmp2twsyl9lfoey.png{/img}{/url}

note: I have replaced the brackets [ ] with braces { } so the address could appear instead of the ticker.

Go to your User CP (upper left corner of this site)
Under Your Control Panel, you will find Settings and Options.
Here is where you can Edit Signature.

Copy and Paste the code from the ticker site you used into your signature.

The ticker, and anything else you add to your signature (smilies, names, past trips, links to trip reports) will appear at the bottom of all of your posts.

Please note that you only get a certain amount of space for your signature, so it part of it is cutting off, you may need to condense some of the stuff above it.

Hi guys,

First off, let me congratulate all of you for this incredible thread. Disney WISHES they could have so much in-depth information on their resorts as I have found here.

Even though we are Disney fans here in my house, we have never been able to stay in a Disney resort... Until now that is! Thanks to a convention taking place at the Yacht Club (and therefore the reduced rates) we will be staying from May 3 to 7 so I will bring my DW and two of my DD so we can go to the Magic Kingdom and DHS.

We will be completely relying on Disney transportation though, so I was wondering if you guys could help me out:

1. Aside from the Quick Service places in the resort, what other options would you guys recommend that wouldn't involve too many bus transfers?

2. We are planning to heat to DTD the afternoon we arrive. Traveling back to the resort sounds like a pain. We don't have Park Hoppers so the "EPCOT route" you mention in the thread is not an option. Would a cab be the best bet? How much would it cost? Our group will be 6 to 7 people.

3. Is there a way to know which characters are appearing in Cape May for character breakfasts?

Quick question, and I apologize profusely if this has been posted already (my computer is having a cow trying to 'search')...

I read that at Hurricane Hanna's the kids meal comes in a bucket...does that include the hotdog / burger kids meals? just wanted to make sure, because I know my kids won't want the cold sandwich or pbj (can't remember which right now) but I know we'll want buckets too!

Downtown Disney is a good distance away and walking through Epcot doesn't help you get there. We have bus service but you can wait 20-25 minutes for the bus and the actual bus ride takes about 20 minutes too. A cab would be much quicker but there is no guarantee a van cab will be there at the resort so with your number, you may have to take two cabs. I personally would go via bus.

As far as DTD, if the bus is good enough for you, then its good enough for me. LOL I was just asking because in the thread it sounds like coming back from DTD is a real hassle. But 20 minutes is not too bad. If the buses are there, might as well take them right?

Actually that was my first option. I haven't been to EPCOT in a long time and I'm dying to go. However, I have two small daughters (4 & 2) and if I don't take them to Disney Jr. Live! and Toy Story Mania I might not make it back to Puerto Rico alive. Skipping MK is really not an option so... I guess I will just have to wait till next time.

I can tell you this though: When we do come back for a full vacation, we are staying at the BC/YC. I haven't set foot in them and I'm already a convert.

Quick Service at the Y&B: Marketplace at the BC (breakfast items and at 11 AM they switch to soup, salads and sandwiches). Then we have Hurricane Hannah's grill. In the morning, they have a little area off the lobby of the YC that serves pastries and stuff ... not quite as much as the Marketplace has for breakfast. They have QS over at the Boardwalk Bakery but I don't recommend it because the lines are horribly long and you take the stuff outside on the boardwalk and eat and the birds attack you.

Really think you should add Hopper to your passes. It's not that much more money and the amount of QS that that would give you is amazing. My favorite at Epcot is Sunshine Seasons (where Soarin is). The chicken lunch/dinner is amazing!!!!

diskids2, we so prefer the space and conveniences of the villas that I would try to make that work. What about switching the sleeping arrangements around a bit. Give the young couple the sleeper in the living room and your DH and son the studio/connecting bedroom. They could share the queen or your son could take the sleeper. Or you and your mother share the studio. I would sure put the young 'uns on the sleeper before subjecting your husband to it. There are tons of lockoff 2 BRs at BCV so I think you have a decent chance of getting one. Then once everyone else leaves, you'll have all the space and convenience of the one BR to yourself. Good luck with your decisions.

We stay at the YC every year & go to DTD almost every trip. I never understand the complaints about the transportation to DTD. We have never had a problem & have no horror stories to tell. Unless they have recently changed the route, the bus goes past the Port Orleans resorts & we always like getting a quick peak @ our first Disney resort. I would just take the bus back. You can all relax & enjoy the view. Have a wondeful trip!!!

There would have to be a one bedroom and a studio both being checked out of on the same day next to each other. Any combination like that will go to people who booked a two bedroom. You'll get what's left over. You should consider switching and booking a two bedroom villa, then you'll get what you want, have plenty of room .. the best solution in my mind!

That's a great idea, Teena. Perhaps make two separate reservations. The first for a 2 BR lockoff while the entire group is there and the second for a one BR for the rest of the trip requesting to stay in the same room. I bet there would be a great chance of that being honored.

Holy smokes! I just looked that up and it's $199.99!!!!! Jeepers! Or maybe I read it wrong. Or maybe it's a lifetime supply. Or maybe I'll just wait and smell it at Disney.

I have used Bath & Bodyworks "Seaside Escape" room spray to give me a reminder of the BC lobby.

It doesn't list clover & aloe as the scents, but it works enough to trick my mind.

And at $5 (or less with a discount!) it is a little easier on the wallet.

I should note that is appears it was gone for awhile and now the packaging has changed so I hoping the scent is still the same as the "old" bottle I have been using.
