We're hanging in there. Although I didn't post about it here, you know that we unexpectedly lost my mom over Christmas and we're all still trying to accept our new reality. Booking Disney trips seems to help!
We're also considering buying resale DVC at BCV!

Oh yeah I considered a "sparkle" skirt but decided to make a Cinderella tutu & a Nike running shirt which I ironed on a tiara with my name, twitter name @logpey & MouseQuest for the podcast I participate in weekly, plus I will wear a tiara just for fun.. I remember u mentioning that on twitter & I wondered how you've coped since. Disney does help & lots of time. Still praying for your family!!! I will give u a gigantic hug when I see you & at the race you can drag & pull me through to the finish line, K???? Take care

Yachtmans Steakhouse is one of our favorites, but we are trying Le Cellier this trip in May!

We went to Le Cellier last year for lunch, it was AWESOME! What was nice last year was that lunch was 1 TS credit, but I think lunch is 2 TS this year! The cheese soup was so delicious (stirring the soup, not trouble, lol) & so was the wild mushroom filet Mignon! I'm a big lover of mushrooms! You're in for treat there for your meal!

Hi Everyone! To all my fellow MA/New England people, are you ready for the blizzard!? I can't wait!!

I think someone was asking about the Magic+ and when it would be coming to the BC. I have 67 days to go and I just signed into My Disney Experience. It said, I have 8 days until online check-in! So, anyone know what I should expect? Will I then be reserving my fast passes? Not sure what to expect with any of it! I'm pretty excited to be checking in next week though!

I really liked the beer @ Big River & the atmosphere sitting outside on Boardwalk watching fireworks at EPCOT, but the foods more of the Applebee's variety. I think next time we'd just do beer & appetizers & not use meal credit there.

I think that was pretty much my plan. DH is a beer lover so I figured we could have a few drinks and just apps and that would be enough.

I love a good storm too and I'm not working until Sunday.
I pray there are no storms the day we take off. I tried the online check in a few times but it hasn't worked so I will wait til we arrive.

Oh wow! I'm from that area, too. I lived near Pluckemin (at Sunset Lake) but had a Basking Ridge mailing address. All my cousins went to Ridge high school, too. My mom lives in Flemington now.

I worked at Ridge High School! Still work for the district just moved over to one of the Elementary Schools. My kid goes to school in Pluckemin.

I can't believe there are so many of us from this area on this particular thread.

You're welcome Sue M! We really like Captains Grille for breakfast, but we've never had lunch or dinner there. We had a lunch at Beaches & Cream, just reg old hot dogs & hamburgers, but we used lots of snack credits on ice cream!

Since you're not doing DDP are you considering some of restaurants at Swan/Dolphin? I hear good things about their restaurants, but never been there.

Yes, actually we are. After a visit with Teena we walked over to Dolphin to look around. I saw a make your own burrito or taco restaurant there that looked good, and may persue in August.
We were talking about doing Captains Grille for breakfast too our last day, depending on what time our flight home is. Still watching fares.

So far they've rolled out RFID KTTW cards for resort guests, and they can put your MYW ticket on the same RFID card. They're supposed to start rolling out the bands this month resort by resort, reportedly starting with CR and BW. No word on when FP+ will be up and running though.

Who were these people that did not warm up to the white???? Certainly not the sophisticated Manhattanites !!! My childhood was certainly not eclectic - Jersey shore summers, PA til 12, FL for HS and college, back to Jersey for the rest (brief stop in Louisiana) ...but we all knew there were TWO chowdas - at their best the Manhattan was spice and nice and the New England thick (not too thick) and warm and comforting like a blanket on a snowy evening...
I will not have my peeps maligned in this fashion surely the two chowders can live peaceably upon the planet and so bestow clam love upon all the peoples

Booked our trip for Aug 24-31. DH, DD15, DD12 and me. Not to mention 9 of the most fun friends in the world too!

Hello everyone! My family and I just returned from an 8 day stay at POR and DH said next trip absolutely HAD to be at BC/YC! We typically go in late July/early Aug and I can't wait to book. I think we would probably prefer to do CL wherever we decide.

I've read a lot of this thread and everyone seems so welcoming and friendly here--I love it!

Let us know when you book a trip. Are you looking at this summer or next?

Ok, my husband and I are planning a May trip for the 2 of us. We usually stay CL at the BW, but are going to venture out of our comfort zone and try the BC CL. Looking forward to it.

Nice to have you checking out the scenery from across the lake!

We are staying at the YC SV CL June 9-15. This is our first time at the YC as well as the first time doing CL. We are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary while there! Thank you so much for all the helpful info and pix!

We have all finally been hit with the flu.
I was thinking last week if we are gonna get sick lets get it now and not on vacation.
19 days to go

My family has one week & four days till we leave for BC & I was hit with the flu 3 days ago & so far no one else has it & I had the flu shot. So scary because I'm also running the Princess Half & need some more running in....

I hope your family heals quickly, at least you have a little more time to get better....Are you on Tamilflu?

I hope everyone in your families are feeling better soon and you are all healthy for your trips.

That's always a huge fear of ours, getting sick before vacation!

Hi BC experts. I was adding some stuff to "My Disney Experience" and it lists all the activities for the Beach Club when we're there (April 14-21). The app has hours for restaurants, shops & recreation, but in the recreation section it only lists the quiet pool and not SAB. Has anyone heard of any refurbs there in April? Or is it a Disney oversight? I'm having a minor freak out that SAB won't be open when we're there. Thanks for any words of comfort

Hopefully Ninja Mom talked you to a safe place. I wanted to add that no, I haven't heard anything and yes, I agree with NM. A refurb would not typically be scheduled for April and would only happen if there was something outside of the ordinary that couldn't be avoided.

I could do without this blizzard but my kids are careful laying out their pajamas (inside out) in hopes Friday there will be a snow day in preparation!!! Lol

Big River Grille is pretty good, but if you want awesome food and really good beer, you should try Raglan Road at DTD.

Well we Irish are known for our love of food! Guiness has it's own place on the "healthy eating plate"

No special treatment for sure. It's really strange being there as a guest but the Princess loves SAB so basically it's a SAB vacation. Only time we'll head into the park will be for dinner.

I think it says so much that a staff member parts with her own hard earned cash to stay at YC/BC. Thanks for everything Teena

Thanks! I've never stayed anywhere but Pop Century and if I'm going to be running 13.1 miles on this trip I want nice linens and a hot tub, lol! So deluxe it is! I love everything about the Yacht and Beach Club, but the lack of cabanas at EPCOT resorts is a bummer. Our other option is the Grand Floridian. However, we also have an epic night planned at Jellyrolls after the half and it's much easier to stumble home to the EPCOT resorts than having to grab a cab to go back to GFlo. It's still up in the air but hopefully we'll decide really soon!

I have obviously led a very, very deprived life! 1st I've never tasted lobster and now I discover that I've been missing out on not 1 but 2 types of chowder Really the unfairness of it all is shocking I almost typed "soup" but I'm guessing chowder lovers everywhere of either type may be horrified if I did that
The list of things I've got to taste whenever I next visit just keeps on growing
