HELLLLOOOOOO INCREDIBLES!!!

Well today is 1/1/11. We can start anew, a new year, a clean slate. Goals to set and achieve. Some of you are getting ready for Marathon Weekend, I am jealous. Some of you are still working towards the Princess (still jealous). I have set some lofty goals for 2011, 4 half marathons. The first one is TODAY. And how glorious a day it is. Forecast is for 45 degrees and sunny. On Jan 1 in upstate NY that is unheard of. Should be good.

I hope that 2011 brings all of you peace, happiness and running success. Keep being INCREDIBLE ladies, I am so proud of you all.

Happy new year!!

Good luck today Veronica!! I can't believe how beautiful it is this weekend, and how awesome you're first half is today. That's a great sign you are going to have a fabulous year and rock all those half marathons!! Have fun!!

After the freezing thanksgiving 5k, I decided I didn't want to try a new years one, but it would have been a fun year to do it.

My training has been interrupted with school vacation and snow, but I will be getting back on track this week. I'm going to join a gym so I'll have treadmill access when I can't get outside.

I wish a happy, healthy, active new year to all my Incredible friends!!

Happy New Year!!!! I feel like 2011 is going to be a good year.

Good luck today Veronica. The weather is so nice and how perfect. I think a half in the freezing frigid temps would definitely not be as enjoyable.

Kathy- I thought the same thing. There was a first night 5K yesterday and I previously didnt sign up due to how cold it usually is. I dont mind it so much but I feel bad making my family come to cheer me on in it. They are die hard cheerleaders so they wouldnt have listened if I would have said to stay home. It would have just made me feel selfish. Anyway you never know what the weather is going to bring. Hopefully it brings lots of warmth to disney at the end of february.;)

Beth- I bet you are going crazy your trip and race is so close. Im sure this week will go fast for you. when do you leave???

I better get my butt movin. I need to get my 6 miles in before heading to my MIL's for 1.

Have a very Incredible Jan 1st.

Happy New Year INCREDIBLES!!
Veronica - Good Luck in your race today! What absolutely perfect weather for a half. I still can't believe you are running 4 half's this year. :worship:

Kathy - I hear you on the school break and holidays. I can't wait for Monday and SCHOOL!! GL on getting back into your training.

Lindsay - Thanks! I AM going crazy. We leave Thursday, early. I want to have my room key in hand and be at the expo when it opens.

I just spent 2 hours writing up the itinerary for this coming weekend! :scared1: With 6 people and so many races (5K, 1/2 and full for me, 5K for DH, Kid's races for DS and DD) there are so many time constraints. It is done though and the forecast is tightening up, so I think I am ready to start serious packing. Thank goodness, since I have a ton of pent-up energy and I can't run:eek:. Getting ready to finalize my packing list right now and then go on my 4 mile run for the day before dinner.

2011 here we are!!

Well the first of my potentially 4 half marathons is now complete. Not my greatest time, 2:33:30, but considering I really did not train for it, I'll take it. The weather was AWESOME 47 degrees and cloudy/sunny. It was a four loop course, so you saw the same things over and over. The folks I met were nice and the volunteers were great. I missed most of the post race refreshments, since I finished close to the end. But no matter, we are having pizza for dinner tonight anyhow.

I *may* have to back out of my April half due to potential health issues. I had my very first mammogram in late November and they found something they wanted to examine further. So last week I went back and had a repeat mammo and an ultrasound. There is a cyst and calcified tissue in my left breast, so I am having a stereotactic biopsy and an ultrasound guided needle biopsy on Monday. I am a bit nervous about it, not that it is cancerous, since the radiologist and my OB/GYN do not seem to think it is, but the potential is there with the calcified tissue. I wanted to have breast reduction anyway, this may end up being a bit more reduction than I bargained for though. But if I have to go that route, at least with reconstruction, I can get a set of oranges instead of these watermelons I have been lugging around. I will keep you guys posted on what happens. I hate to be Debbie Downer, but it helps to talk about it.

Thanks for listening INCREDIBLES, you guys are the best!!

Congratulations on a great run and big hugs that your biopsy:hug:. Hoping that it is nothing pixiedust:

Great job on your run Veronica. I hope everything turns out ok for you. Good luck with your upcoming procedures.

I completed my 6 mile run today. It was wonderful weather for this time of year. I actually was sweating. (lately I dont sweat until after I get home and am inside the warm house). I kept a 11:50 pace which is actually really good for me. It felt great and I am looking forward to adding another mile next weekend.

Veronica - congratulations on your half! First one of the year on the first day of the year! :teeth: Sounds like good weather - I like it on the cooler side. I'll be thinking about you this next week. I, too, have a cyst on my breast. It got bigger while I was in Tokyo so I'm sure I'll have to have it biopsied. I may be contacting you if I do. Hope the procedure goes well for you. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Beth - best of luck to you this next weekend. Sounds like you have a full schedule ahead. Try to have some fun with your races. Can't wait to hear about it. Sounds like the weather will be a bit warmer. Hopefully, the rain will stay away. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Kathy and Lindsey - I heard that the Northeast got bombarded with snow this past week. I feel for you all. It sure makes training tough. Be safe!

Since I've been out of the country, I haven't been able to check these threads. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and ready to start the New Year off right. Of course, I always have great intentions but now I really need to follow through. While in Tokyo, my back really bothered me. We did Disney for a couple of days but I couldn't go full strength. I had to sit a lot and take several breaks. I usually go full speed ahead on these trips but I couldn't this time. I really think a lot of it has to do with me being overweight. I also think I need to be doing some yoga or more stretching-type of exercises. Anyone do yoga? If so, has it helped you? I seriously need to do something different!

Hope you all had/have a great and safe holiday weekend!

Happy New Year INCREDIBLES!

I feel like I am late to the party! :rolleyes1

Veronica, big  and lots of pixiedust: for a good outcome from your tests. You already have a half for 2011 under your belt -- that's INCREDIBLE! :worship:

Kathy, thanks for being my running buddy even if you do keep trying to get me to wear a tutu! ;)

Lindsay, woo hoo on the 6 miles this week! We are going to be rocking at the Princess! princess:

Beth, that's a whole lot of racing for your whole family -- Good luck! :cheer2:

Susie, sorry about the back. I have done yoga and it really helps with stretching, strength and relaxing. Give it a whirl! Did you go to Tokyo Disney?

Hard to believe that in just a few short weeks I will be doing my first half marathon -- some days I'm like  and others I am :scared1:. Trying to keep the freaking out away. :hippie:

You guys are all INCREDIBLE!

Good evening Incredibles!!!

Veronica-thinking of you tonight and hope today went well and you get good results soon. Congratulations on your first half!! It was such a beautiful day and your time if pretty impressive to me.

Beth- Hope you're not suffering too badly from the tapering madness I was reading about last night. I hear you may go shopping for all sorts of crazy running gear during these days. I was reading the John Bingham book, and he had me thinking I'll need to budget some extra money for the shopping. Good luck going GOOFY, girl!!!! :goofy: I can't wait to hear all about it.

Welcome back Susie. I only did prenatal yoga with my sil when we were pregnant together, and we had lots of laughs. So many people love it, and it can really help to strengthen you. How was your trip? Did you do Tokyo disney? How did it compare to wdw/dl? I'm pumped to lose some weight this year. You should think about joining the biggest loser challenge here, just for the support and accountability. It's looking like a big, fun group. Not that you need another thread to keep up with.

Lisa- Now, I wouldn't exactly call the sparkleskirt a tutu, now would you? I can't believe I'm really thinking of wearing a sparkle skirt. But I do think maybe the sweepers would give us a little leeway if we bling it up a bit.:rotfl: I'm just sorry I had not luck with the tyedye tutus.

Lindsay- You are doing awesome!! Under 12 min miles for 6 miles is fabulous, and you will have no problem with the princess. Check out sparkleskirts.com. I think I'm gonna go Magenta. With capris underneath.

After 10 days without any running, I got 2 miles in this am before work, and it felt great to be back out there. I'm ready to join a gym but the snow has melted enough, that I was able to get outside. Tomorrow I'll go out for 4-5 miles before work, and see how my longer route's roads are, and I may go tour the gym after work. Less than 8 weeks til the princess, and with a 3 week taper, that only gives me 5 weeks to build up my long runs.
I've also started ww seriously on the 1st, and aim to lose 10 pounds in the next 2 months. I know I can do it if I stay focused.

Have a good evening.

Well when you put it that way you make me want to go like this.:scared1: :rotfl2:

Hi team incredibles. I hope you all are incredible today. Veronica I hope the tests went well I know we are all thinking of you.:goodvibes

beth- a few more days to go:banana::banana: I friend of mine from home is also doing the goofy. She keeps posting on her facebook about how exciting she is and I think of you everytime I see her posts. We will be cheering for you!!!!

I got a 44 min run in yesterday 3.7miles. I felt like I was going very slow my legs were so tired from the previous two back to back runs I did. I realize I need to spread out my runs especially after the long one. Its just sometimes the week is hard to get them in. I ended up at an 11:59 pace which is actually what I average so I guess I wasnt going that much slower it just felt that way.:confused3 Anyhow its in the books. My next run is planned on wed morning for the same time and intervals.

take care everyone!!

Well, this will be my last post until next week. I may try to use the app on my iphone though to update my times. I am almost done packing, just need DH to put his clothes in the suitcase so I can start loading the car. I decided to get up early and leave my house around 6 or 6:30 am so that we can get to the resort and get our keys before I head over to the expo at 10. So nervous and excited right now!!! I was going to run one last time today, but it has been raining all afternoon and I don't want to get my shoes wet and my old shoes are shot and hurt my knees. I would be fine for the little jaunt out, but decided that it would be better to put that energy into packing and not risk slipping in the rain or hurting my knees for no good reason at all. I will get plenty of walking in tomorrow at the Expo and parks:yay:.

Lindsay - sorry your run was feeling so slow. Hopefully your next run will feel all the better for the crappy one. It tends to work that way for me.

Kathy - GL with WW. You can do it girl! 10 lbs in 2 months is only 1.5 lbs a week, totally doable! I do seem to *need* everything I see at the running store lately and I am so worried about the Expo:eek:. I may have to leave the CC with DH. Better yet, not:lmao:. I have bought more sports beans than I could possibly eat in two days of running, 3 LS tech shirts (even though I am getting 3 new ones tomorrow), and a pair of running capris. Yikes.

Lisa - :cheer2:You will do fantastic at the Princess:lovestruc

Susie - we want to hear all about Japan! I so want to go there someday.

Good luck Beth!! You will be Incredible!!:donald::goofy::mickeyjum

Veronica- Thinking of you and hope everything went well monday.

Lindsay- I can do my short runs 2 days in a row, but the longer ones, I try to have the day before and the day after off to rest the muscles that I torture during the long run. I know what you mean though, it is hard to fit them in some weeks. I'm sort of glad school is back in session, and I can get back into a routine.

Keep being INCRDIBLE everyone!!

beth- I hope you have a great trip and good luck with your races!!!

Kathy- I know I will make sure now that my runs are longer to give a day or two of rest before and after.

This saturday is my 7 miler. I only did 7 once before but I am confident! I have not run and probably wont have run since sunday so I will be good and rested.

Well, did it! The 5K was too crowded to be a decent run of any sort but the other two were Incredible! Because of my great half in November I was moved up to corral A. I hung back in the corral and had lots of room to run my own pace. I had left my watch on the dresser charging so I was without that so I just ran what felt good. I ended up with a new PR of 1:51.50. That is 43 seconds faster than November's time! I was a little concerned that I wouldn't have anything left for Sunday. I was back in corral A for the full (thanks to that half in Nov again) so I was going to try my plan from Saturday again: no watch, hang back in the corral, run my own race. Well, it worked! I ended up running a PR of 3:56.20 which was my time goal for this year. I was in a lot more pain than any of my other marathons and even thought about quitting a few times, but I got through it and I am pretty excited that I did this huge acomplishment. What a way to start 2011!
Heading to Kona Cafe for yummy breakfast now and then a little MK until we head home this afternoon.
Stay INCREDIBLE!

Woo hoo, Beth! :woohoo::yay::jumping1: You are INCREDIBLE!

Isn't that wonderful how you got two PRs without even realizing it?!? Guess you'd better leave the watch at home from now on! :rolleyes1 Safe travels home!:flower3:

beth- I hope you have a great trip and good luck with your races!!!

And you were too modest to mention how INCREDIBLE you were running 7 miles in the snow on Saturday with your 12 min pace. Yay, Lindsay! :goodvibes

Veronica, sending good thoughts your way today. Hope that your parts get to feeling better. :flower3:

And Kathy I will do my best to run all the way to Epcot with you! :thumbsup2

Beth- YOU ROCK GIRLFRIEND!!!:cool1::cool1::worship: Two PR's in one weekend!

Lisa-I got my package today-thanks so much!

Got my biopsy results-everything was benign. AMEN!!:woohoo: Unfortunately, my breast looks like I got punched by Mike Tyson but good. It has quite a hematoma as well, which my doctor says should go away in a couple weeks:rolleyes1 It is tender when I try to run, which is a bummer, since I really wanted to get back to running this week. I may try walking for this week and see what happens. My BP was fine today as well, doctor says stay on the same meds, keep up with my exercise and diet.

Veronica- So glad all was benign. What a relief that must be. So sorry you are so sore. I hope you heal quickly and are able to run without pain very soon.

Beth-:worship: You are amazing and INCREDIBLE!!!! Congratulations on not only completing all 3 race, but setting two pr's. You must be on cloud nine.:cheer2: So happy for you.

Lisa and Lindsay- now if we are struggling during the princess we'll think of Beth and think we just have to get to the 13.1 mile finishline, we don't have to get up and do twice as long the next day like she did. Amazing.

Lisa- I got my patch today!! Thank you so much!!

I got back on track last week once school was in session, and tomorrow will go out for 8-10, depending on how I feel. Big snow coming wednesday, so that may put a crimp in the training, so I'll feel good getting a long run tomorrow.

Keep on being Incredible!!!!

how about it. Beth is superwomen!!!!

Lisa- I got my package too. Love it and thank you so much. Now not that we didnt have enough to worry about with our outfits, I need to know where you plan on wearing this? I am guessing on the top since you guys have sparkle skirts.
