2011 Horror Nights

i would never pay the high prices for a special park event only to be able to go on 4 different rides.

that's all that is open in the studios during hhn.

homie, why don't you go the columbus day weekend if you can work with those dates?

there will be many, including moi, there that thur-sun for hhn.

Rip, if the opening weekend would be sept 23-4, that would give the event 6 weeks of hhn.

october 6,7,9 would then fall as the 3rd weekend for the event.
kinks are worked out very well by that point of the season.

Darlin if I could, I would. Unfortunately I can't, I will be there from the 19th through the 23rd.

I never thought I'd say this, but I really miss living there.

I would shoot for 10/16 (Sunday) for the lightest crowds...which aren't very light anymore. I expect 10/19 (Wednesday) to be scheduled which means....Hell Week. That weekend (Thursday-Sunday) is going to be jammed with high schoolers since they are off school on Friday. You would definitely want to consider purchasing an Express Plus pass for any of those nights.

Sorry Metro, but could you clarify one more time... I thought I read an earlier post that said schools would be out on the 14th/15th... We'll be the 13th/14th for two days (at least hoping HHN will be running on Thursday that week), doing S/S but don't have enough $$$ for EP's this year...

Hoping it won't be Hell Week and two nights with S/S will equal one night with EP's... any thoughts??? Thanks!

Thanks so much! My 12 yr old son would LOVE it...I worry about my 9 yr old daughter. So I guess MNSSSHP it is. They could care less about the whole theme...they want to ride the rides!!!! They also enjoyed the parades at Disney. It will just cost us about $300 for all that. Ugh!

Boyfriend and I do these events to save money actually. MK has most all rides open for 30 bucks less than normal admission, PLUS, its dark out and you get to dress up! Don't forget you can get in at 4PM for the event so you can get an early start!

I think this is your best option until the kiddies are older.

Last year there were two Hell Weeks so I have no reason to believe that will change. Whatever week shows as Wednesday its considered Hell Week and because a Wednesday is scheduled means LOTS of kids that week. Keep an eye on the dates when they are released.

Express is pricey can be worth it. S & S will help but you will need to do both areas...one each night or you'll end up seeing the same houses early.

We will also be going the 24the of Sept, Is It really a bad time to go?, what kind of kinks usually need to be worked out?. I was planning to get the EP,would it be neccery to buy it for opening weekend,if we are just doing it one day?

kinks that will be worked out after the opening weekend:

scares that are not working in the houses and zones.
dialogue in bill and ted's show and any other shows...

if the audience doesn't catch it, doesn't laugh, or ignores parts of the show, it can be rewritten based on what would appeal to the audiences.

bill and ted's is an on going improved show each week.

place where scareactors can be stationed

adding characters
removing or changing characters

any scripts of the street scareactors

more tm/police supervision at sites within the park

smoother walk ways in the park/ break up crowds sections

more defined lines for concessions, beer carts, cart stands for drink and food, etc.

beter consistancy with the changing line wait signs for the houses, shows and rides

last minute extension of park hours if needed due to crowds.

i posted before that the 24th, if open, would not be a bad night to attend once the media leave the park.
in years past, 9:00 they usually are out of there.
wait and judge the crowds and lines for the houses before you buy the epp on opening night.

if it rains, you will not face crowds...
if the turn out is light, no need for the epp.

also, i prefer the peak nights that close at 2:00 am
opening weekend has shorter hhn park hours.

where would you buy the ep in side the parks?,dont they have a certan number per night?

24th will be the second night, not opening night.

i was close.
never said i was good at numbers.....

seadad, you can buy the epp at guest services.

they are limited but i very much doubt they would be sold out for opening weekend.

just then a group of 5 loud, boisterous 20 somethings was giving a TM a hard time of ignoring his request to get back in the regular line so the cop with me went to help out ......
as he was 'escorting' that group out, i ran like hell inside and down to a shop.

i'm not proud of that moment but i live and breathe HHN and had no options.

:lmao:

I have read on another website that it is confirmed that Brushwood will not be back this year. He is either already booked for other dates or confirmed that he won't be back in a statement, don't remember which it was.

hope it's just another false rumour as we are fans:thumbsup2he is amazing. btw, his website still has calendar marked for the HHN dates as 'amusement park'

Okay...I'm confused. What are date for HHN? I was thinking about coming down Oct 13 - Oct 16th? Would that work? Also are there any passes avaiable for this event, like FOTL access? We are staying onsite

If you are going to be visiting those dates, HHN is staged every night you're here. You can pick any night you want since HHN is Thursday-Sunday nights...and sometimes Wednesday too. You can purchase Express passes for HHN but your onsite benefits do not carry over to HHN so no unlimited Express for HHN.

THANK YOU SOOOO much. I was starting to get frustrated.

So is it best to buy an Express pass? Will I be facing large crowds?

The EP is invaluable for HHN and I won't do the event w/o it. The HHN EP can be pricey but it's worth it especially if you decide to go on Friday or Saturday nights. Its not uncommon for house lines to reach 2 hours...yes...2 hours or even longer! I have no idea what the price will be since none of that has been released yet.

it's homies like me that keep the prices high on the epp.

i buy them no matter what the price is for hhn........

if you need day tickets for the parks, buy them now due to the increase of UO tickets and passes.

but if you are a floridian resident, no sweat.
no increases for those day tickets.

Metro is right - we wouldn't do HHN without an express pass. Over the past few years the event has become so successful and it seems more and more crowded - even on non-peak nights (Wed/Thurs/Sun). I know EP's were $60 last year on non-peak nights, and I believe $80 on peak nights (Fri/Sat) but as Metro said, prices for this year haven't been released yet so we have no idea what the cost will be for them yet this year.

i'm going to guess the answer is no, but it never hurts to ask.

For AP holders, is there any discount available on the express passes normally? or does the discount apply only to admission?

No discounts for anyone on Express passes...only admission tickets.
