**2011** Epcot Food & Wine Festival HAS ENDED. 2012 Festival 9/28 - 11/11

That pic of the portion compared to a quarter is about right on some of the booth items. Seems spot on for the chocolate cake with Bailey's sauce they served in Ireland last year. I've never seen anything so small in my life. Total waste of money.

Sadly, my quarter pic isn't even of a kiosk item. That item (polenta cake with basil pistou) was the first COURSE of a 3 "course" Cook, Book, Bottle event. There had been a miscommunication and since the chef was promoting his book, _Small Bites_, he turned his 3 course event into 3 courses of canapes. Lesson learned -- always bring a camera and a quarter in case you need to complain to guest services about an event not delivering as advertised.

ImprovGal - I consider that photo of yours to be Iconic! It embodies the phrase "a picture is worth 1000 words".....If there were a contest for the best signature on the DIS - you should be the winner! :)

Yes you can use you Disney gift card for payment. We do it every year!!

Thanks! I've used the gift cards at the booths for food but never tried to use them to pay for PFTS, etc. before when calling for reservations.

That's great! Our grocery store gives double grocery points for gift card purchases, so I'll make sure to load up a card with enough $'s to cover all the special events and we'll get extra free groceries for buying something we were already planning to pay for!

Woo hoo! :woohoo: Congrats on finding a way to stretch your dollars!

It is looking like DH and I will be in Disney the first week of November, however I am not quite positive yet. Do the PFTHS dates sell out immediately? When do I need to have made my mind up for sure about going?

PFTS is a large event and usually does not sell out right away if at all. In fact for the past two years they've been selling half price tickets to cast members for the last two PFTS in November.

Just freaked out a little because I realized I hadn't refreshed foodwinefest.com for about 5 hours in a row. Luckily (or unluckily as the case may be) -- no change yet.

One of the Disney facts from this year's festival press releases:
100,000 desserts including freshly baked waffles with berry compote and whipped cream (Belgium marketplace), white chocolate macadamia mousse with dark chocolate pearls (Desserts & Champagne marketplace) and chocolate cannoli (Italy marketplace).
4,000 pounds of lobster for Linda Bean’s Perfect Maine Lobster Rolls and Linda Bean’s Lobster Claw Cuddlers at the Hops & Barley marketplace plus Lobster and Scallop Fisherman’s Pie at the Ireland marketplace.

New Items? I don't remember them and what is a Lobster Cuddler? I keep seeing a plush Sebastian !!!

I didn't have a clue what a lobster cuddler was so I went hunting...

Yuck. I hope they aren't getting rid of the crab cake, I'll eat crab but not lobster.

Thanks, Elin! I'll have to try those, even if I don't get the hops and barley!

Well, if you go to the website you might find that these little babies can be purchased at some Walmarts in the good ole USA

I will say that Linda Bean (of the L. L. Beans) has a good record for sustainable, USA-caught lobster fishing. Might be interesting.

"Not to be outdone, the Italy pavilion will offer beer and pizza tastings from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays in its newest restaurant Via Napoli"
This sounds like fun does anyone know if we have to sign up for this and the cost. Looking for more information and can't seem to find it. Thanks,:)
OK found the information looks like it is going to cost $50. Will I have to call on August 16th or can I make the reservation on line? I was thinking pizza and beer is something my dh would love, do you think it will be worth the $100 for both of us?
