2011/2012 Reunion Cruise?

Hello Everyone!!!!!!! It's so good to be back on the Dis!!! I have to say that giving up the Disboards for Lent has been the hardest thing I've EVER done. I don't plan on doing it again!!!
I posted on the other thread last night so if you see that one, just disregard it.
I'm glad to see everyone is doing well.
Beth- I love the pictures of the babies!!! They are so precious!!! I'm so glad you are planning on joining Robby and me in December. I can't wait!!!
Jennifer-I'm so glad you guys had a good time in DL. I can't wait to read your TR. I will do that as soon as I get caught up on a few threads.
Brack-I'm SOOO glad JoJo is doing better!!! I actually thought about him the other night and was wondering how he was doing. We will keep him in our prayers.

Giving up DISBoards for Lent! :scared1: I couldn't do that. :surfweb: Congratulations.

Thanks for the prayers. Today is a rough day for him. His hacking cough is back and he does not want anything to eat yet except the "special" treats. Maybe later.

Jennifer-I just finished your TR. It looks like you guys had a GREAT time!!!! I can't wait to go!!! I got a little teary eyed when you were talking about the Train Station and walking down Main Street.

I am a very happy lady right now!

I just got my room assignment for my cruise next month, and, for the first time I got an upgrade!

OK, it's a little upgrade from a Cat. 12 GTY to an 11, but it's one of the sideways 11's on Deck 5. I've never been in one of those, so this will make for some different pictures to post! Now if only I could get ON the ship and into that room, I'd be really happy!

Tina and Robby: Jim and I are still planning on that cruise, and we'll be making the final decision really soon. We'll let you know!

Beth

We actually booked one of those two cruises ago but gave it up to go GTY Cat 12 and save about $800. The gave us a Cat 11 on Deck 5 but one aft and not sideways.

I know it is a long way off :cool2: but is anyone thinking of a December 2011 cruise?

Every day! :cloud9:

We changed our December DCL for a RC cruise. So, we have money "on hold" with DCL. We plan to keep pushing the reservation out and use the deposit money for a December 2011 DCL cruise. I can't wait! :rolleyes1 It will be weird boarding a non Disney boat in November. I'll have to make sure to post back with the good and the bad. Wendy has sailed with RC in the past and seemed to have a great time. :worship: I hope we do too.

 When we sail in 2011, we are hoping for a 7-night cruise. The longer, the better! Hopefully sailing in December, the kinks of the new ship will be worked out by then. ;) However, what happens if the new ship only does the 3 and 4 night cruises (as rumored)? Are y'all open to a shorter cruise (4-night)?

 Glad to have you back on the boards Tina!!!!! You have more will-power than me! ;)

Thanks for reading my Trip Report. It was fun putting it together. Words cannot describe how amazing our trip was. I hope you and Robby make it out there. It was truly a magical experience. :wizard:

We have a Feb 2010 cruise to move back and we are thinking of pushing it back to Dec 2011, Western.

I am very interested in reading your trip report from the RCL cruise. I will waiting very impatiently.

I will! I just bought a new digital camera on Saturday (an early birthday gift from Jim) so that I can take lots of pictures.

As for a Dec. 2011 cruise--we're still planning Dec. 2009, but Dec. 2011 is actually when my DS wants to bring his family on a cruise again, so we'll see what their plans are. By then I may even be retired so I won't have to worry about taking too much time off.

As for shorter/longer cruises, a short cruise is better than no cruise at all!

Beth

I am totally up for any cruise you guys want to go on. Unfortunately though I don't know if we are going to be able to go on the one we have scheduled in December or not. We are thinking of building a house!!! We are going to talk to a mortgage officer tomorrow and see how much we can get pre-approved for. I am sooooo nervous!!! I'm just so afraid we are going to be totally denied or they will only give us a loan for like $20,000 or something. We are looking to stay around the $150,000 range, but who knows. If we start building at the beginning of next month, it will be done around the first part of December and we would need our vacation time for that. If nothing else we will transfer our deposit to the inaugural cruise and plan for that. It's crazy that we were thinking of moving to Florida a few months ago and now we are looking at staying here and building. The big thing that really stinks is that we are going to have to cut back on vacation planning. What would you guys do?????

What would you guys do?????

IMO. Definitely the house. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how much you get approved for. The homebuilders are itching for new sales right now. You will probably have the upper-hand in this market. They may even throw in some free upgrades. When Bill and I built our first house in 1998, we thought there was no way we were getting approved for a home loan. He was a Teacher and I was a Receptionist = not too much money. :lmao: We were approved for well above the house value (We financed 100%. The house and closing costs). If we could do it, anyone could do it. ;) A home is an "investment" for today and tomorrow. I hope it all works out. Good Luck!!!! :goodvibes

:surfweb: Jennifer

Good luck with whatever you decide, but make sure you let us know. If you're not going on that cruise, Jim and I may change our plans and cruise a week or two earlier, or possibly wait until after the holidays! We want to make sure that we don't miss the babies' first Christmas. We're actually starting to consider bringing our older granddaughter along with us. She'd probably enjoy a week or two away from the little ones!

That's what we're sweating right now!! [insert-smiley-that-looks-nauseous] I just keep thinking that on one hand, right now the builders are itching for new sales but the banks are more cautious than ever because of the economy and may not be willing to give us what we need. It's like, we know what we can afford and I have a raise coming up later this year, but just because we know all of that doesn't mean they'll GIVE us that. My stomach is killing me right now. And to top it off, we were told to bring our social security cards with us and I can't find mine!! :scared1:

:grouphug: It will work out in your favor. I always say "It's only money." How exciting to be planning a new home. Will there be a Mickey room?
