Yes, I know they are quite late. We went last year in Nov and did learn an important lesson. Never plan a 12 day WDW vacation before 2 major holidays. It was too much once we got back and we never did catch up with all our usual traditions.

So we are going in Sept this year!

There are so many wonderful DISigners on here, but I want to extend a very special thank you to Marion. She did so much for me before we left and at times I felt like maybe I asked too much. Thank you for everything!

So I am going to post last years pics. And then I'm off to start hunting for DISigns for this years' shirts! :rotfl:

I will also say one more thing. We have made shirts the last 2 years. The first year we went, we bought a shirt in the parks but I don't know that they ever got worn again. The shirts we have made though cannot be worn again to the parks because we continue to wear them all year round! The girls love them!

Here is a pic where I hung them up to cool off after the transfers:

And here are the tie-dyed ones:

All folded and ready to go!

These might have been my absolute favorite! They were simply fantastic! You might notice that all the names were in a different animal print

And because of these, my DH got to be Veteran of the Day and we were even recognized at POR later that night! DH said that was such an honor.

And here is the final stack--minus our Pirate of the Caribbean shirts. Unfortunately I never did get a pic of those :sad1:

Love your shirts! Do you print your transfers at home on a home Ink Jet printer or what? This week I paid $12 bucks for a pack of 5...messed up 2 and then ran out of ink!!! Became totally frustrated and quit! Is there an easier way?!?!?!

THANKS!

I do print mine at home. Before I print on the transfer, I print it on regular paper using the quick draft setting (so I don't waste ink). When I know it's what I want, then I print it using the best quality setting--these are the settings for my printer, yours might say something different.

Do you have an AC Moore or Michaels near you? I get my transfers at AC Moore using a 40 or 50% off coupon. I also print out an extra coupon and send one of my kids through another line ;)

I also try not to do it when there's a lot going on. I have also messed a bunch up but it was like I wanted to get it done quickly without really paying close attention to what I was doing. I had no waste last year even with all the pages I did. And the first year, I went through like 3 ink cartridges, last year it was just over one. It's hard to tell exactly how much because the girls went on a printing spree.

Yeah!! Always terrific to see your work put to good use! I like the AK one best myself and wore the circle on my 2009 trip! :cool1:

Beautiful shirts! I especially like the AK and Epcot shirts the best.

Mind if I ask who DISigned them for you?

You did a beautiful job making those shirts! Your tie dye shirts turned out really well! Did you cut out all of the letters for the names and iron them on individually? :goodvibes

Dani,

Marion aka RustManFan did the AK logo and also the name fills. I also saw that she now has that same logo with 2011 and 2012! Everyone kept asking us where we got our shirts and where they could buy them. Cutting out the letters was the hardest part, esp. inside some of them (like the letters A and D), but it is so worth the extra time.

The EPCOT Mickey head was originally by Natalie, I believe, and I'm not sure if I can post it here or not. Unfortunately, I do not remember who did those names because they were done in 2009. I know it was a different person though because Natalie had stopped DISigning for a while.

Music Mouse,

Thank you and yes, I cut out every letter. It took a lot of time and some very sharp scissors and exacto knives! But I took them everywhere I went so when I was getting an oil change or waiting to pick up kids, I would be cutting everything out. That also insured that all my transfers were completely dry before I applied them. They got to "cure" so to speak and I think that might be another reason they did so much better this year.

My girls want to do tie dye again but I just had my rotator cuff repaired so I can only use one hand right now! So if we do them again, it will be real close to the time we leave. They are so fun to do though! I love making an absolute mess and making something great out of it!

Ahh, I wondered about the names. I would say it was definately worth the time cutting each letter out. The shirts looked great!!!

Thank you for the DISigner information.

Everything looks great! Thanks for sharing the pictures. The Epcot name fills were designed by - me! Great to see them in 'action'.

Thank you, Amy! I've used them twice already and since we all wear the shirts year-round, I'll be using them again this year when I make new ones!

You know, when we see the uniforms at EPCOT that have a flag pattern that is similar, I don't like them. They need to use the one that you have! I think the DISigners on here should help with some of the uniforms at Disney. I sincerely thank each one of you for helping to make our vacations even more magical
