2010 WDW Resort Packages Watch!

First off the cost for free dining or 4/3 would be exactly the same whether through AAA or Disney. I am not saying to go through AAA, but just a little fyi.

Secondly, yes, you can have your reservations linked and request rooms nearby eachother no matter how you book it and who you use.
No guarantees though, as there never is with any request, but they do there best to get you together.

I'm in need of some serious help...and I couldn't think of a better place to go then here! Here's my situation....

I already have airfare booked for our January trip. We're going to need 3 rooms total: one for my parents, one for the in-laws and one for hubby, me and our 2 boys. We were each going to book our own packages seperately. And we normally go through AAA, but if there's a 4/3 or free dining deal that comes out, it would be cheaper to book through Disney. That being said, should we book the room only trip now, so we can get preferred rooms at the same resort? And if we do that, once the deal comes out, will it cost us $$ to add the deal to the rooms? I'm assuming we would have to cancel the room only and rebook at the package price, correct? One more question, if we all book seperately, is there any way to request that we be in the same area together?

I know, that's a lot of questions, but believe it or not, as many times as I've been to Disney, this trip is stressing me out the most!!

Thanks to all of you for your information on here...it's just amazing!!:grouphug:

I would suggest booking as a grand gathering. We have done it three times now and it's been great.
It works like this:
You get a grand gathering number and under that number you would each have your own reservation with your own total and confirmation number. So you would have three packages booked under your grand gathering number. When they know you are a grand gathering they will keep you parties together in a block of rooms. Everyone still gets there own total and you can each pay seperatly. If you are going with the dining plan, they will also seat grand gatherings together or as close as possible.
One year we had 17 of us, our rooms were all in a row, some adjoing. It was great.
If you book your rooms and deal comes out they will alter your existing reservation no problem. We have just booked our whole package and I asked if a deal comes out can we add it and she said of course. She said to just keep your eye out for promotions coming up.

Hey everyone, Thinking of going to Disney in May, want to stay in The Contemporary. Does anyone know of any deal, or what I should do? Also, anyone with Celiac Experience out there?

Thank you all for your help!!! I booked our grand gathering this weekend!! We're all set for 1/21-1/30 at the All Star Movies for 3 preferred rooms. And if a discount becomes available before 12/7 - we can add it to our package for no extra charge! Yay!!!!! :thumbsup2

Also, anyone with Celiac Experience out there?

This is OT, but yes. There is a DISabilities forum, if you need it. I see you're new, or I'd PM and I'll let you hunt out the forum.

BUT--every restaurant, CS included, can do gluten-free. My MIL was not a fan of the hamburger buns or pizza crusts, but you do what you can.

I was able to order a flourless chocolate cake at the Flying Fish for DH's birthday so she could eat with us, but she's not anaphylactic, so she can eat dishes made in a kitchen that uses flour.

Good luck!

There are plenty of people who live gluten free over on the disABILITIES! board. Please do hop on over there. Just to let you know, WDW is the greatest place on earth for celiacs and folks with other food allergies. My daughter who is gluten, dairy, yeast, citrus and MSG free loves to eat mac & cheese, chicken fingers, ice cream, brownies, popcorn, frozen bananas and so much more when we go to WDW. That's a big part of the reason we continue to go to WDW.

I booked my March 2010 trip over the weekend! :cool1: I also have my friends and another family booked for the same week. Hoping to find some great deals in the next few months... 'gotta get mine down under $3000 according to DH! :lmao:

I'm already planning for next year. My goal is under $3000 also, but so far everything is running $3500-4200.

When in March are you planning on going? We were looking at March 4-11 at ASMu!

My package right now at full price is $5150! :scared1: I am hoping it goes WAY down when the specials come out.

That price is for 11 nights 12 days with 4 *disney* adults on DDP at a moderate resort.

Don't feel too bad; rack rate on our package is over 10K right now  (4 Disney adults, 1 child, 1 baby, 2 rooms at the Poly for 8 nights, with DxDDP), but I booked anticipating the return of the 4/3 or something nearly as good. I've always wanted to try the Poly but never could quite accept the cost so I figure now's the time, while Disney is all but paying people to keep coming through their gates! If the codes aren't as good as I'm hoping, we'll downgrade to AKL or CSR.

Are you booking through the website or calling ?
Is one way any better than the other ? :confused3
We are going March 10th, and hoping for some type of deal, also !:thumbsup2
Are you booking now, just to make sure you get a room ?
And, then you can change your ressie later, if a deal comes out ?

I booked online usually, but made my January res over the phone. There's usually no difference, though if you can't find something you want (a particular room type or view) one way, it never hurts to try the other because their available inventory does seem to vary slightly sometimes.

The reason I'm already booked for January is simple - it wasn't a new booking but rather a postponement of a trip we had planned for Sept. So rather than get the refund and call/go online to rebook later, I just had the CM change our travel dates. As long as it is more than 45 days of arrival you can make any changes to your package at any time without penalty.

Another reason I like to be booked early is because we do the deluxe plan and usually have a meal or two that would require pre-payment if we were paying cash. Having the package booked and linking the ADR to the package with dining means not having to pay for CRT or the dinner shows up front. So no matter when I'm traveling, I make sure that I have my package booked before my ADR window opens.

Have not booked yet , watching for a great discount in Jan.! Please keep me posted on any deals for Jan. 2010~ :))):)
