The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) just released data on 2010 theme park attendance. Here is a link: http://www.themeit.com/etea/2010Report.pdf

Disneyland park is now just 6% behind Magic Kingdom park.

The top six in North America were all Disney. Here were the top 10 in North America:

1. MAGIC KINGDOM (-1.5%) 16,972,000
2. DISNEYLAND (0.5%) 15,980,000
3. EPCOT (-1.5%) 10,825,000
4. DISNEY’S ANIMAL KINGDOM (1.0%) 9,686,000
5. DISNEY’S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS (-1.0%) 9,603,000
6. DISNEY CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE (3.0%) 6,278,000
7. ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE (30.2%) 5,949,000
8. UNIVERSAL STUDIOS ORLANDO (6.1%) 5,925,000
9. SEAWORLD FLORIDA (-12.1%) 5,100,000
10. UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD (26%) 5,040,000

I'm sorry, is that positive 30% increase for IOA and 26% for USH? :scared1:

Also, how does MK get away with having so little attractions compared to Disneyland?

IOA increase was Harry Potter related, right? What did USH have last year?

Wow, definitely expected the IOA increase because of the boy wizard (which was definitely a cool addition, but not worth the crowds for me), but I'm surprised at Universal Hollywood. I suppose in general it should have been a better year for theme parks, so I'm a little surprised at MK and Epcot's decline. Maybe that's IOA cutting in a little bit?

I'm suprised that DLR has double the amount of CAP visitors, I'd figured they'd be more close, especially since it's so easy to parkhop and not that more cost wise to do so. Interesting.... I wonder when CAP finishes their renovations if this number will go up alot?

CAP??? :confused3

Besides Kong over at USH they also completed the reconstruction of the town square that had burned down a few years earlier helping complete that section of the studio tours.

Doesn't exactly sound like an E-ticket. Maybe they'll consider adding Kong attractions at other parks again..

I would assume CAP = California Adventure Park? (what we know as DCA). :goodvibes
Ahh, then her terminology got me twice because she must have meant Disneyland (the park) when she called it "DLR" and Disney California Adventure when she called that "CAP". I probably could have figured it all out if she called Disneyland "DL". I thought she must have been comparing something else to the visitors at the Disneyland Resort "DLR". :teacher:
