I'm back! Many thanks to those who updated the list in my absence. I'm having some serious post-trip blues, and being on Disboards is making it worse, as I don't know when I'll be able to go back (whenever it will be, it's not soon enough!) I'm hoping to get pictures posted and something resembling a trip report done soon, but both girls have their birthdays next week and then the Christmas rush begins....it's going to be a busy month.

I just booked the family (there are 8 of us) for the Holiday Tour! I am so excited!! We will be taking the tour on 12/19 at 3:00p.m.

A quick follow up about our tour (for those of you wondering about cancellations/re-schedulings)

We were booked for 11/20 @ 3pm, we flew in that morning and got to the park at about 10 am...it was starting to rain and they were still calling for rain that afternoon so I decided we would try to re-schedule for the next day.

I went to guest relations in DCA where a very nice Cast member told me that in fact, the tours are NOT refundable but that they are happy to exchange for another date AS LONG AS THERE IS ROOM AVAILABLE.
She checked for me for the next day (Sunday 11/21) and said there were plenty of spots.

However, she couldn't change our tour right there & then because I did not have my tickets yet, those could only be picked up at guest SERVICES (outside office in between CDA & DL) but that they could make the switch there for us.

We went to guest services as indicated and when I started to explain to the cast member that I was there to pick up my tickets but I wanted to exchange the date he very rudely interrupted me to say: "these tours are 100% non-refundable or transferable, you are told that at the time of purchase" mmmm no, I'm not trying to CANCEL...I could feel my DH getting mad next to me, and saying we were just told to come here! so I stayed calm and nicely explained to him what we had just been told, and told him I could just get my tickets for tonight and go back to the NICE cast member at DCA and she would be happy to make the change if he couldn't help us (I had no intention of doing this, just trying to point to him how ridiculous the situation was). He grudgely mumbled "no, that's fine, let me see if I can do that here" to which I smiled and said thank you very much! 2 minutes later we had our tickets for the next day!!

So you might get conflicting info, don't let a rude and clueless cast member tell you it can't be done!

By the way, the tour was FANTASTIC. They were still calling for rain on Sunday so I think a lot of people re-scheduled or cancelled. It was just the 4 of us and another couple, so basically it was like a VIP tour. We all got front row (since there were only 6 chairs! LOL) my girls got lots of attention from the tour guides (they all gather to watch the parade even if they did not conduct a tour) and they also got lots of attention from the parade characters!

Payment is due at the time the reservation is made. Fees are not refundable, but reservations may be changeable depending on availability.
Tour includes: history of holiday traditions at DLR and around the world, front of the line privilege (one time) for IASWH and HMH, preferred seating for the holiday parade, hot chocolate in a souvenir mug, gingerbread cookie, samples of holiday candy, souvenir pin.

IASWH- It's a Small World Holiday
HMH- Haunted Mansion Holiday

You get to ride on both of these rides with your tour, skipping the line.

I think the tour is over 2 hours. You would start at 3pm then end with watching the parade at 5:30. Some days have two tour times- noon and 3pm.

We're booked for the noon tour 12/27 (had to do the early tour as we're also doing WOC at AG that day).

Just booked our tour, we will be joining sacteach at 3:00 on the 18th.

There will be 4 of us, Mom, Dad, Son, and Daughter. We're looking forward to this very much (although I think we'll get some grumbling from my son, who will then find out he really enjoys it).
