**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

My answers:
1. What is the one food/beverage you are looking forward to this year? Its a toss up between the Belgium waffles and the heirloom tomatoes with Oregon blue cheese

2. For those of you that have been before, what's on the menu this year that you absolutely loved last year? The lamb chop in Australia, chipotle sausage in Canada, apple streudal in Germany and sampler in Spain, in that order. DH is beside himself that the fisherman pie in Ireland is back this year. He had a whole claw in it last year!

3. What event are you most looking forward to this year? The first annual food and wine classic! Never stayed at the dolphin so that will be equally as thrilling.

4. Are there any booths that hold no appeal for you this year...and why? New Zealand. The menu looks so promising but we found it extremely disappointing last year. The slider is bland....tasted like a bad sloppy joe (mini sized). DH said the scallop was good but he got only one small one. So sad!

1. What is the one food/beverage you are looking forward to this year?
Crab Cake from Hops & Barley booth

2. For those of you that have been before, what's on the menu this year that you absolutely loved last year?
Fisherman's Pie from Ireland. And I don't usually like scallops!

3. What event are you most looking forward to this year?
Jamie Deen deminar

4. Are there any booths that hold no appeal for you this year...and why?
Shockingly enough for me, Japan. They took away the Sukiyaki Beef Roll so I will not even be visiting that booth this year. New Zealand and Singapore don't really jump out at me either.

1. What is the one food/beverage you are looking forward to this year?
Bison Chili from US.
I'm also excited for the new rieslings at Germany.

2. For those of you that have been before, what's on the menu this year that you absolutely loved last year?
Fisherman's Pie from Ireland (and I don't really like scallops either)

3. What event are you most looking forward to this year?
PFTS

4. Are there any booths that hold no appeal for you this year...and why?
Japan because I don't like sushi and Singapore, well, because it just doesn't sound good to me:confused3.

okay...so quick questions for my food and wine peeps. This applies to both newbies and veterans....

It took me 3 calls to get the correct info!!
1st call: they were sold out
2nd call: operator had no idea what first bites was
3rd call: operator helpful with booking

WDW-FEST told me the Taste, Shake and Indulge was not booking yet on the 1st day we could book events. I questioned that and even asked them to double check with a manager (told her where the event was being held, date, time, etc.) so she could try and find it. Nope. "The manager said call back in an hour." Well it sold out for my date within the hour because apparently other DRC people knew what they were doing:)

Today, I am trying to book PFTS. 1st res agent cut me off. 2nd res agent says "so you want to book MNSSHP?" WTH? He searched for PFTS after I told him the time, where it is held, spelled it out. When he finally finds it 5 minutes later he cuts me off-LOL.

Maybe my 3rd time will be a charm... :rotfl:

Finally got PFTS booked for 10/16. Phone lines are awful today-dropped calls, bad connections. The Wine View Lounge is still open for 10/16.

1. What is the one food/beverage you are looking forward to this year?

Either of the items at the Singapore booth. After visiting Singapore a couple of years ago, I concluded that country has the best food in the world! It's a mixture of Malay, Indian, Chinese and more. Soooo good.

2. For those of you that have been before, what's on the menu this year that you absolutely loved last year?

Didn't go last year.

3. What event are you most looking forward to this year?

The deminar by the guys from Baked. I love watching pastry demonstrations!

4. Are there any booths that hold no appeal for you this year...and why?

Poland and Germany. I tend to like spicy food, so I'm not a huge fan of those cuisines. (I just returned from Germany recently and if I have to face even one more piece of sausage I might lose it!)

3. What event are you most looking forward to this year? The deminar by the guys from Baked. I love watching pastry demonstrations!

Baked was really the ONLY deminar I HAD to sign up for!! Have seen Matt & Renato in 2007 & 2008 (the dates didn't work out last year :sad1:) and I just LOVE them!!

Last weekend they were on Throwdown with Bobby Flay (thank you Elin!!) and they made their amazing banana cream pie. They lost, but I wasn't impressed with the 2 judges and kinda think it was rigged!!! ;)

1. What is the one food/beverage you are looking forward to this year? Drink: Pomegranate Kir from France; Food: Seared Beef Tenderloin with Sweet Potato Puree and Mango Barbecue Sauce from South Africa

2. For those of you that have been before, what's on the menu this year that you absolutely loved last year? Chocolate lava cake from Ireland.

3. What event are you most looking forward to this year? Italian cheese seminar.

4. Are there any booths that hold no appeal for you this year...and why? Japan. I don't like seafood.

Thank You PatriciaH!

On opening day, I tried to get PFTS for Oct. 23 and was told that it was sold out. :guilty: Yet, after reading your post...I decided to go try again and see if what the CM told me was true several weeks ago about being sold out and guess what?

They now had opening for PFTS, Oct. 23 date.

So Thank you for posting and making me think about some possible magic!!!
I did ask CM and they told me that on opening day by 1:00 p.m most everything was already sold out...but now Disney had added more openings to some of the events.

That is great! The PFTS usually takes the longest to book up. They have room for a lot of people in there. The Wine View does sell out though so I was surprised it was still open on 10/16.

Does anyone know if the Wine View Lounge is sold out for October 9?

1. What is the one food/beverage you are looking forward to this year?
um.. nearly everything? From the kiosks, I can't wait to try China's black pepper shrimp with sichuan noodles since I love spicy foods. From the charcuterie/cheese booth, the cheese fondue paired with the Ace Joker Hard Cider will probably be amazing. I love the apple/cheese combo (like apple pie topped with sharp cheddar cheese).

2. For those of you that have been before, what's on the menu this year that you absolutely loved last year?
Chile's shrimp ceviche was good, also Canada's chicken chipotle sausage.

3. What event are you most looking forward to this year?
I'm really looking forward to the First Bites reception because it kicks off the festival. I'm also really looking forward to the signature dinner at the California Grill. That's consistently been a winning event.

4. Are there any booths that hold no appeal for you this year...and why?
France. Nothing really appeals to me. I don't care for escargot (can't deal with the rubbery texture), I don't eat beef, chocolate desserts don't usually call to me, and even the drinks this year aren't looking like my must-try ones.

1. What is the one food/beverage you are looking forward to this year?
There is a bunch - but Black Pepper Shrimp with Sichuan Noodles is up there

2. For those of you that have been before, what's on the menu this year that you absolutely loved last year?
Warm Chocolate Lava Cake w/ Baileys Irish Cream Ganache

3. What event are you most looking forward to this year?
Taste, Shake, Indulge! and my French Regional Lunch

4. Are there any booths that hold no appeal for you this year...and why?
Hops & Barley - Same as years past + I'm not a fan of beer
Italy - Just doesn't
Morocco - Wasn't a fan last year
Poland

Does anyone know if the Wine View Lounge is sold out for October 9?

We're there the same night in the Wine view. I've never been to Food and Wine and I'm assuming that we are hoping that it isn't sold out so it won't be so crowded in there?? Am I correct? Have you ever been to this even?

~Nannette

1. What is the one food/beverage you are looking forward to this year?

Wow. It's a toss-up for me. I'm looking forward to trying the stuff from the new additions to the festival. If I had to pick one, I'd say the steamed mussels with roasted garlic cream from the Belgium kiosk. From here on in, I'll refer to that as the "mussels from Brussels", because who doesn't like a pun that includes a Jean-Claude Van Damme reference that fits into the Belgium theme?

2. For those of you that have been before, what's on the menu this year that you absolutely loved last year?

The chocolate lava cake with Bailey's ganache in the Ireland kiosk. I did lick the plate last year.

3. What event are you most looking forward to this year?

The signature dinner at The Wave. Friends who have done wine dinners there tell me they've been fabulous.

4. Are there any booths that hold no appeal for you this year...and why?

I have skipped the Canadian cheese soup the past few years out of some perverse "been there, done that a million times" mentality. I skip the lobster roll because I can't justify paying $7.25 for that. Or is it $7.50 now? The price keeps increasing. Would I like these items? Sure. It's just that there are more items to try that haven't outlasted their welcome for me yet.

Yes, I think we are there the same night. My DDs and I didn't book the Wine View Lounge but the thought passed through my head to possibly book it as a surprise to them. It passed quickly since I haven't called to ask if it is sold out yet. :rotfl2:

1) I am assuming this refers to the booths. This is not an easy one as I am not insanely crazy about most of the booth food. Most of the things I thought were excellent last year are not back. I'm going with the seared tuna at Spain if they do it right, or the bison chili.

2) Canada's Chicken Chipotle Sausage. You can get that at Le Cellier though.

3) California Grill signature dinner

4) Poland is the only booth I thought was horrible last year (it wasn't always horrible in previous years). Same menu this year.

For those of you hearing that PFTS is sold out...call and call again. My friend called on July 20 right after the reservations opened and was told PFTS on November 13 was completely sold out. Of course it was not. He was not looking to book the wine view room, so it wasn't about the wine view room.

1. I'm assuming you mean new food, in which case it's a toss up between the wafffles w/berries and whipped cream in Belgium and the Bison Chilli in the US.

2. The greatest entire meal was in Ireland-the Lobster and Scallop Fisherman's pie with Chocolate Lava Cake for dessert. Mmmmmmm!

3. Celebrating with Kool and the Gang. Unlike in previous years, for the first time, I'm not doing any deminars, dinners, etc.

4. I've got no interest in the Brewer's Collection because I don't like beer. FOOD at the F&W festival-Mmmm, wine (etc.)-not so much.
