2010 Dining plan prices

Does any one know the prices for the 2010 dining plan? I seen some prices online, but they state with the magic your way package. Since have reservation with DVC would they be the same?

Unless there is a change in 2010, the DVC price for the DDP is the same as the MYW package price.

And someone posted that they were told by MS that DVC members would not pay the higher peak season price since our season's are different. We will only be charged the basic price.

For those that use it, if that is true, it would represent a small savings for DVC members at certain times of the year.

I'm thinking that is probably some misinformatin from Member Services. While our resort booking seasons are different with points, for DVC cash reservatons, even those booked through MS, we pay the regular Disney season price, less our discount if applicable. Disney Travel controls the DDPs, not DVC.

And a reminder that DVCers can not book the Premium or Platinum plans for stays booked through Member Services.

Yes, prices increased and "seasonal pricing" was added to the standard DDP.

Ya know, with the increase, no tip/no app, difficulty scoring an ADR with the DDP restaurants, and now owning DVC and having a full kitchen, I am not so sure that the DDP is a slam dunk deal anymore. I need to do more research before the next trip.

I agree with this. The DDP used to be a terrific deal. Now you have to work to do more than break even, plus you still have to pay the tip.

We do not do the DDP because we can do much better with our TIW card, plus we aren't restricted to an entree/dessert. If we'd rather have an appetizer we can do that instead. And remember that the TIW card also gives you 20% off of alcoholic drinks. That's not a big deal to us, but can same some people lots of $$$!

It depends a lot on your family composition and how you'd eat if you were paying cash. But I think most people who do straight-up computations (comparing the daily cost of DDP to what you would really spend paying cash, instead of the inflated Disney menu prices) are going to have a tough time justifying DDP.

Back in the day, when DDP included the gratuity, we only "saved" about $75 per 5 day trip with 2A/1C.

Now, we eat better and less expensively offsite.

This next trip, according to Disney Dining we are a family of 4 adults and 1 child We order way more food than we normally would when on the DDP. We also eat at more TS than we usually would. I hate to waste food and find myself wasting too much food which makes me inherently uncomfortable I think now that we own DVC and will have a full kitchen, the DDP won't win out. Off property dining is not an option for us as we don't rent a car but still, I think I can do better by doing only the few TS we really want to do, sharing CS like we would usually do, and making breakfast in our villa. Now the QSDP might be a good option for us if we are doing a split stay. 11 days on any dining plan is just too much food. Who needs or even wants a dessert at every meal or even twice a day?

The TiW (Tables in Wonderland) is the re-named DDE (Disney Dining Experience) card. It is available to Annual Passholders or Florida Residents.
