Does anyone know if you get a list of the participating DDP locations when you get your tickets etc from WDW or do you need to download one?

Not sure if you can pick one up at check in.

thanks

I just printed the list of restaurants from the Disney website. And the list or participating restaurants for 2010 is much smaller than 2009!!

just like the leaves change color. Some restaurants are not owned by Disney (especially in Epcot World showcase & Downtown Disney) These restaurants & Disney negotiate contracts every year in the Fall-early Winter. So when Disney releases the following year's dining plan brochure, for the first couple of months (like October-December) only the Disney-owned restaurants will be there. As the various companies sign new contracts with Disney they will be added.

This happens every year. No reason for concern. None at all. The full list will be out by January 1. You can still get your ADRs just like you would anyway. It's been years since any of the restaurants didn't negotiate a new deal with Disney to take the dining plan.

Thanks to you all, I have booked my meals but was more thinking about counter servic/snack credits. Having always paid OOP we have always just done what we fancy when we fancy.

Thanks again.

How can you make your ADRs if the restaurants aren't listed yet? I can make my ADRs October 18 for my trip in January. So far at least 4 restaurants I wanted are not listed. I don't want to make an ADR if I am not going to use it. Can I make more than one ADR each night? I know you used to be able to do that. Then if the restaurant I really want shows up on the list I can cancel the other.

Just make one reservation at the restaurant that you really want. As catne said, this happens every year and it always turns out just fine. Really :goodvibes

We will be there for our 7 night trip beginning January 16, 2010. We also have the DDP. I was so excited about that but then I looked at the list of restaurants in preparation for making some ADRs October 18. I was really shocked. I know people have said that more restaurants will sign on but when? I really want to make some ADRs.

Also, since several of the restaurants I want to eat at are not on board yet can I make ADRs for them as well as ADRs for maybe a "Plan B" restaurant for the same night? I know you used to be able to do this but it has been a couple of years since I have been. I know it is frowned up but I promise the extras will be canceled as soon as either the "Plan A" restaurants come on board or we realize they just are not coming on board at all.

If you are looking for absolute confirmation that all the restaurants will sign back up, no one here can give you that unless they are actually in on the contract negotiations.

If you want to know the likelihood that they all will based on past years, it's very good. Only one restaurant (Fulton's in 2006) has ever dropped out of the dining plan.

The final list will probably be released in December.

Be cautious making reservations at different restaurants for the same time. It's possible that if the Disney system notices somehow that you have done this, they will cancel both reservations. It's also generally considered a major breach of etiquette among Disney guests as double booking will likely prevent someone else from getting a reservation.

Thanks. I know no one can tell me for sure. I just need some petting here.

I know you shouldn't double book ressies but what are those of us on the DDP supposed to do? I am afraid if I wait until December the times we want will be taken. I am going to continue to monitor the lists of restaurants though.

You can probably safely assume that the 2010 DDP list will be the same as the 2009 DDP list. Except for Fulton's the list has been the same for years.

Thanks. I am so obsessing over the planning of this trip. I need to take a xanax and relax. :rotfl:

Nope, the list is smaller. Here is the link from WDW:

As far as I can see all the restaurants NOT on the DDP YET are the ones which are not Disney owned. They have until the end of the year to sign on to the DDP.
It was the same last year and they eventually all joined the DDP again.

I don't know, that looks pretty official, it is a PDF of their brochure. With the change back to 180 day reservations they may have needed to finalize the list earlier this year.

I hope you are right because that is a big loss for EPCOT and DTD.

That's normal when the list comes out early...it won't be complete until the new year. It's always like that...

Yes, not just this past year, but the year before that, and the year before that. Yes: The first PDF always seems to show only Disney's own eateries.

2010 Dining Plan

I was looking for something at DTD but there are only 2 places listed - FoodQuest & Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant - now I don't know what I want to do for the day I was planning at DTD.

Check the previous posts, which are about the reasons why the 2010 list is currently smaller. Those two places you mentioned are the only restaurants at Downtown Disney that are owned and operated by Disney. Those owned by third parties cannot be added until their contracts are renewed for 2010, which will likely not happen for another couple of months. In the past, they have all renewed for the dining plan every year except for one (Fulton's chose to drop the dining plan in 2006). So what is being said here is that you may use the 2009 list with planning for 2010, and it is a very good assumption to make (although until the contracts are signed that cannot be a 100% certainty) that all the same restaurants will accept the dining plan in 2010.

This happens every year. Until Disney releases the final list, every year we get a great many panicked posts from those who want to know why their favorite restaurant isn't on the dining plan next year, and every year all the restaurants sign back up.

DO NOT PANIC. This happens every year. The restaurants owned by third parties cannot legally be added to the DDP list until their contracts are finalized. Disney apparently believes that releasing a partial list makes more sense than releasing no list at all until the end of the year. The new brochure will likely be released in December, but they've always had it ready for January 1.

Epcot and DTD have the highest concentration of restaurants that are owned and operated by third parties, that's why they have the smallest lists.
