my vote would be the Poly, plus I think that It will be easy for people to get back to resorts if they are going to MNSHHP as they can get the boat or monorail to MK.:) and the Poly do lovely non alcoholic cocktails which my DD loves having.

Sounds like a good idea then. Anyone with any objections to somewhere at the Poly??

Now, are we talking inside bar/restaurant area, or outside pool bar area??

This suits us really well - we'll just get the monorail round from BLT.

We've never been to the Poly (apart from a very brief nosey look round several years ago so no idea what to suggest). The choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails sounds as though it will suit everyone! Roll on 22 September!

we had drinks at a bar outside the Ohana restaurant, Tambu Lounge which was nice, shouldn't be to busy during the day. I am not sure if there is many tables at the pool side bar, does anyone know?

Yeah, non alcoholic cocktails for me! 3 months off being a grown-up in the US, slightly annoying, but the sweets at MNSSHP will make up for it! :goodvibes

I would love to have joined you all but I will be lounging on Castaway Cay that day. :beach:

I hope you all have fun.

Hello:scratchin We want to attend:thumbsup2 We will be at the MNSSHP that night but had planned to go to DHS on the morning and grabbing a bite to eat somewhere. We were thinking of dining at Sci-Fi for lunch but we could change it to Kona Cafe or something. So we should be able to make it. Just an idea ... has anyone contacted Disney and asked if we can be classed as a Grand Gathering ? Maybe they could help us out.

Awesome news! Welcome to the gathering!

No, I had not thought about that; I have no experience with Grand Gatherings. Should we/do we need to do that if we're just meeting for drinks rather than a table meal? If so, let's have all the info :goodvibes

I was thinking of booking Kona Cafe for a late lunch or early dinner, DD is going to MNSSHP as Minnie Mouse(though I am trying to get her to go as Tink as think Minnie costume will be to hot) so will probably be wearing her costume at the meet anyway, so we will probably go straight to the MK afterwards and do some rides. :) so excited now, not long till september.

Awesome - we love costumes! :)

Sorry for the double post, but I have been looking into the Poly resort and what kind of places are available and suitable, and here's what I've come up with:

BAREFOOT POOL BAR - obviously, this will be outside by the pool, so we'll all be sat outside, at high sun time, so maybe not such a good idea - not for us pale skinned Brits anyway ;)

CAPTAIN COOK'S SNACK CO - it's the counter service restaurant, so there will be food, drink and air con available; it just might be a bit crowded and noisy to attempt to fit that many of us in there! Alcohol is also available ;)

KONA CAFE - not sure, since it's a restaurant and reservations are suggested. We could do a big booking for lunch, but it could get tricky if people don't turn up or extra people want to come at the last minute.

KONA ISLAND - no good, since it's only open until 11am

OHANA - no good, since it doesn't open until 5pm

TAMBU LOUNGE - on the second floor, by Ohama. It's inside so air-con available. Snacks, alcohol and non-alcohol available. Opens from 1pm onwards, and no ressies needed.

Personally, I'm leaning towards the Tambu Lounge. If we all met at 1pm when it opens, we should all be able to fit inside comfortably, then we can have a good hour, or longer, chatting, and that will still give time for people to eat (like wideeyes) or go back to resorts before the MNSSHP, and gives the rest of us the late afternoon/evening to wonder off to another park :D

Any other views? Suggestions? Comments?

Ny choice would be Tambu Lounge.

not sure my DD will like sitting at a pool that she can't go in.:rotfl:

Don't know what we are doing yet but will try and get there if we can. :thumbsup2 Sounds like it could be good fun.

Brilliant news. Everything is still a little up in the air because we're all waiting on the September park schedules. I think once they are out, we'll have a bit more of an idea as to when/who's coming!

Hopefully, though, we'll get to see you there! :goodvibes

Tambu lounge :drinking1 !!!

:cool1::thumbsup2:dance3:

Another vote for Tambu Lounge! :yay:

Twilight Terror - Thanks for organising this!
