2009!!

My family (sibilings and their families, parents) have agreed to another family vacation in Disney (we went 10/2006) BUT we are not going until September 2009...
My DH and DS (2) have gone every year since 2001 (last trip was 05/2007).. this wait is going to kill me and it is far to early to do any planning....
I need something to get me until 2009....

I'm in the same boat as you. September of 09 is our next planned trip. It will be for my DD's 10th birthday. I still am planning away slowly at the trip. Where will we stay, will DD bring a friend, how long will we stay. It's the only thing that keeps me sane. That and keeping up with the boards.

We are planning a family trip too in 2009! In December (we originally were planning it for 2010, but I can't wait that long)! The last time I went was in 02/05, before I was pregnant with my son. He will be almost 4 when we go, so I figure that will be the perfect age to go - he'll be old enough to remember the trip, but will definitely believe in all the magic.

On our trip will be me, DS, my mom and dad, my brother, and possibly my grandma (my dad's mom). She has never been and says she has no desire to go, but we know she would LOVE it. She is always bossing everyone else around, so this time we are going to boss her around and make her go! We are planning on staying at the Wilderness Lodge - that is the type of place my grandma would love.

Glad to know I'm not the only one planning a trip that is a long ways off!

1. Start watching your Disney reward dollars build on your Disney VISA card. by 2009, you'll have a huge chunk of change to spend 2. Read the disboards for information during the time frame you'll be there. Instead of looking at it as 24 months away, you're really only 2 septembers away.
3. Don't "over mourn" the fact. Be happy you CAN go. I know so many families who will never get to look forward to WDW at all Lastly, plan some type of fun family vacation for 2008. Give yourself something to look forward to that gives your family quality time to be together. I don't know where you live, exactly, but we would alternate WDW with Dollywood in eastern Tennesee when the kids were small. That was different but still wonderful (and at a fraction of the cost).

We are also planning for 2009, probably May for our next trip. Our last trip was 7/06 and we were hoping to return in 2008, but there is no way we could swing it. I am looking forward to the 500 day mark so I can book our room only. The DIS keeps me disney happy and we are planning a small camping trip with kids this year and dh and I will go to Dallas, TX next year to watch a football game. Also, my brother is getting married in 2008 and all 4 of us are in the wedding. I hope with everything we have planned, 2009 will be here before you know it. The next trip will include dh, ds4, ds8, me, FIL, MIL, SIL, nephew 5, and my mom. I can't wait to have everything planned for the group!

I'll be there in the late fall of 2009 too! We are planning on my whole family going- so we need that long just to save. (There is 6 of us and we're driving there from either Phoenix or Denver) I have started getting some things and storing them in a bin in the garage specifically for the trip, like those coveted lime green Mickey's, poncho's, and other little tips I've picked up here thanks to the fellow Dis'ers! (thank you!) I like to plan, plan, plan so I think I'll be ok until then. Plus we're only a few hours away from DL so in the case of an extreme Disney fix we can drive up there! I thought I was the only one who was insane enough to start planning this far in advance

There is a thread on here called "WDW picture of the day", it has a couple THOUSAND pages- I have been looking at for over a month and am only on page 250. That gives me a "fix" and hopefully will take the next year to get through until we can see all of those beautiful sights in person! (and they take such amazing photos!) Make sure to check that out when you have some spare time.
