ULTRAMICKEYMOUSE,
Thank you soooo much for this information! I have never been at a race over a couple of thousand so have no experience with corals and waves.
I have a couple of questions for you.
I am going Goofy. I am running the half by myself.
I have two friends running with me for the full. Although we have very different paces, and will not run the majority of the race together, I would love to hang out in the coral together and run the first couple of miles with them.
Here's the dilema - two of us are in red coral D - one is in the last coral Red H. I understand that we can drop back to her coral, but she cannot move up to ours. When we first signed up, we were told that we would only be a coral or two apart. This is obviously not the case.
I am running Goofy to have a great time, first and fore most, but I DO want to FINISH! I am worried about it. What will happen if I drop back to the last coral. Will it add a ton of waiting on time? Will I spend a lot of time dodging people to catch up with my pace group? (I am hoping to finish under 5 hours). I know that it's a different race, and I do want to relax and enjoy the race and my friends, but I don't want to sabotage myself either. I am afraid that I will already be worn out from running the half and getting up so early two nights in a row.
I just don't know what to do because I would really, really, like to hang out with my buds!
I would appreciate any insight or opinions!
Good luck with your race and thanks again for the heads up!
