2009 Swap Calendar

If we are looking at 4 CPS I was thinking one each quarter (of course this doesn't take the character 8 by 8 one into it.

I was thinking about the calendar one at the beginning of the year so people can use it for the rest of the year as they make their pages.

I was thinking about summer for all about me since many of us have a bit more time. Of course if you wouldn't have time over the summer you could do yours ahead of time since it will be a more of what you want to do- since you are doing the finished ready for album page on this one.

How would the end of Jan through mid-late March work for Calander stuff (if you want me to do groups for fall and winter year round swap I can do that too).

Also would people perfer 8 by 8 or 6 by 6 for all about me- can you fit enough on a 6 by 6 page?

Now I am confused! I know this was discussed before, but I can't find it. WHat is the calendar swap and what is the all about me swap?



Timing: I like the idea of spreading the 12x12 out over the 4 quarters. We also usually spread the parks over the 4 quarters too. I requested Mar/Apr for Magic Kindgom because that is when we did it last year. I can be flexible with this if necessary.

December of this year is wide open -- just DHS I think. Should I do the color swap in December instead?

I would like to host the Surprise swap and base it like Kat did. Unless Kat wants to continuing hosting it.

The calander swap will be groups of 12 in the CPS section each person will make 12 pages for one month of the year. In the elements section people would do a topper and 2 other elements for the month they choose. We also had a bought group for each month with ribbbons, shapped brads or eyelets, and some other things (I wasn't in that section so I don't know what). That is why adding some small groups to finiosh off the year round swaps we ended up not having this year would be easy. I don't expect it to be too many groups- we haven't gotten more than 2 of each section in the past.

The all about me is a swap in which everyone would make a page about themselves. They can make it anyway they want but should include a picture of themselves and information that want other swappers to know to get to know them better. When you recieve it back you just put it into an album- because all the journaling and pictures are done- these are really complete completed pages. The pages would be like large sign in areas for a circle journal. It would be similar to the address card swap in you make one for everyone who signs up- they don't all have to be the same- I am all for using up your supplies. I was thinking of taking most of the summer becuase we could easily need to make 20 or more if we had many of us sign up.

I got it now. We are not making a calendar, but doing pages for all of the months. One page layouts? I like it. I agree with you that it should be early in the year.

I was thinking that 1 page layouts would be better with having to do them for 12. I think 24- 12 by 12 pages is a lot of work myself.

Here is a example of a page I did from a swap like this. If you need me to take better photos let me know. Basically there are set colors for each group and everyone makes one letter. This is with the word Christmas:

I thought that this would be an easier swap- you are embellishing 1 letter and it is small in size. These are 1 inch letter- the background was 1.5 by 2 inches at the largest. As you can see they are all done differently but make for a good title. I have 2 other sets to use- family and vacation. I like them because they add lots of decor to the page and I feel as though I can just use lots of pictures on the rest of the page.

I was thinking along the lines of titles of parks and characters.

Also with their small size even lots of groups fit in an envelope.

Ooops I did not even look for what is up at the end of this year. I would still like to host, but definetly push the sign up dates into the end of April. That would give more time in between them.

I really like the All About Me swap idea. I would love to learn more about everyone. And it would be a nice book to have of all the swap friends from this board.

I had forgotten I mentioned that I would willing to host a DL/DCA swap. I'll do it after the technique swaps, so

Hope, I did responde! I had made mention of how many swaps you had to be in before you could hostess and then you replied that you would do it so if I was supposed to reply back to that Im sorry!
I can find the thread if you like and double check. I cant remember offhand who said it, maybe Rebecca? said you usually hostess with a swap buddy first time out. So I would love to learn from you!

Nah, not wrong. It just hasn't been updated yet I thought I wouldn't be able to host at that time but my schedule has changed.
