OK, I made our ressies for March. Here is what has me stumped.

The CM did not seem to be FW smart. No biggie, don't usually get one that is anyway. So I ask for a full hookup site. He says they only have preferred and premium. So, I ask him if the full hookup site is a thing of the future and they don't have those anymore. He says no, then says hang on. He comes back and says that the preferred is a full hookup site with W/E/S/C. I know I am confused about all of the changes so, OK.

Then he gets my ressie and it is time for the deposit $105. That is one night. That is crazy. The ressie I have for Oct is only $47 a night. I know the rates are not out yet, but 2008 rate for a preferred site in regular season is only $77-80 and peak is $88-91. I only want a full hookup which is about $10 less per night. I don't want premium. Of course, wasn't there someone on here who got charged the same deposit as I am being charged and they are getting a partial.

When I made my ressie in '07 for Feb '08, they charged me deposit of the current rate and then let me know that it had gone up by about $3 and I had to pay the diff to keep the ressie. If this deposit is low and they up it on me, I will cancel and stay at Shades of Green or at a vacation home. Through the military I can get one for $329 a week. If the preferred is that much but a partial is still in the $60ish range, we will just leave the camper at home and tent it.

Anyone know when the '09 rates come out? Last year it was Aug 6th or thereabouts.

What do you guys think? With the cost of gas and more people leaving their RVs home, do your really think FW can bear that price?

They are installing cable in all loops that do not currently have cable. (This is occuring as we speak, the construction permit has been filed.

Full hookup is going away.

Preferred Loops will be 100, 200, 300, 1600, 1700, 1800, 1900.

Partial Loops will be 1500, 2000 (also will have cable).

All other loops will be Premium.

The rate should drop some once the actual rates come out.

They gave me a price of 110.00 deposit for a prefered for 2009, made me sick .

same here over 110.00 deposit for july reservation for premium because preferred was not available (go figure)

if they don't severely adjust something this month, my deposit will be applied to what I have this year because I won't be going next year at that price...we will be staying off property

Jen I'm almost embarrassed....how many times have I complained about that 110.00 deposit now...about 6 times...heehee .

you know what terri, until everyone complains about it about 1000 more times, i just don't think they are going to get the hint...i know some people on this board think we are whiners, but I DON'T CARE!

if this new pricing system stays in place, it is nothing but greed and tropical palms and the like may have my money and my son can enjoy disney from our annual passes only...i hate to do it, but geesh! in the summer, they have no right to ask 98 dollars a night for a campsite before taxes (which are ridiculous anyway) it is a 68% increase from the same site the year before...

they better be doing some serious thinking before they make this permanent, or my guess is that the fort is going to be mighty empty this coming year...and they are going to be emailing and snailmailing the heck out of us floridians to bail them out again like after the hurricanes, 9/11, and every other time they have been in need...

i talked to stacktester on the phone the other day for quite a while and one thing he said hit me pretty hard...he went on 1-75 to tifton, ga the other day on a friday and it is usually really slammed packed with people....he said he could count on one hand the number of campers he saw...that should tell everybody something right there...

I just got off of skype with dh and he said to get a condo. We can get a condo in celebration world resort 2-3 bedrooms through the military for 329 a week. For our 2 week stay, that is almost an $800 savings over the fort. That is almost our food budget!!!!!!! We are only spending $1200 on tickets. We would be spending $1500 on the fort. Our ressies for Oct are only 47 a night. I know we are not going in value season, but sheesh.

We will still spend a day at the fort maybe looping on a car. We may also rent a pontoon boat or surrey bike, or both. Do the campfire and movie, etc. With the 800 savings, oh the stuff we can do.

The rate is only for military folks, but it is a timeshare place. I am not sure how anyone else could rent there.

Here is the link http://www.celebrationworldresort.net/ . You could always call and ask.

The military has a vacation club for active military only where timeshare places fill their available rooms by offering them to the military at a discounted rate. Some offer rooms way in advance, but others you have to wait until a month or 2 before your trip to book. They only rent out whole weeks at a time normally Sat to Sat. If you don't want the whole week, you still have to pay for it.

Since I just found out about this, I may sell our camper and just tent when we want to camp and use these condos for longer trips.

Thank you, I don't blame you about selling your tt if I could find a nice place close to disney that allows pets and was reasonable in price I would sell ours in a minute.

I am watching for their price announcement to come out like a hawk. I hate to be this way, but we only have so much money to spend on vacation. I refuse to budget any more. We have to have money to maintain the MH and to actually live during the summer. I refuse to let Disney dictate...nevermind...I won't go on again...

I got a quote for a value resort room in off season next year for 134...doesn't seem much like a value either...(I'm doing the cruise and didn't want to lug the camper down....)I just might make my vacation better and stay at a moderate lol...too cheap to go all the way out for a bed for my head!!!!

I hear ya sis I feel the same way ! :chat:

We'll all be staying with Donnie over at Turkey Lake, and freeloading at The Fort. :rotfl:

In all seriousness, what else is there besides Tropical Palms and Turkey lake any other hidden gems by WDW that I should investigate ?:coffee:
